“Hello,” I said firmly as the two people approached Sully and me. The resemblance between them was unimaginable. These two were definitely Sully’s parents, “I’m Robin Fletcher!”
Sully smiled at me lightly blushing as he tightly wrapped his hand around mine, “It’s good to see you again, Mom and Dad!” He cheered hugging the couple with his spare arm.
Should I be hugging them too, or shaking their hand…? “I um… Sully’s really hot, am I right?” Shit… Now of all times?
“Hm…” His mother placed a hand over her mouth trying, but failing, to suppress a laugh, “There’s no reason to be so shy, Robin my boy!”
“Hah…” His father sighed placing a hand on the woman’s shoulder, “Don’t tease him too much, Syd. It’s not his fault after all.” The man turned to me smiling warmly, “It’s nice to meet you, Robin. I’m Thomas and this is my wife Sydney and we’re Sullivan’s parents.
“You’re no fun…” Sydney pouted puffing out her cheeks, “Well, I suppose it’s time for us to head home then. Instead of just standing here chit-chatting… Your brother is probably almost finished with dinner anyway.
. . .
“So, you’re Sully’s new man, huh?” Eric, Sully’s older brother, squeezed against me as he eyed me up carefully, “You better not hurt my little bro in any way, or you might just learn to hate me…!”
“Sully…” I whimpered reaching a hand out toward the younger auburn-haired boy, “I’d much rather have you scare me, Sully! Especially in--!” Seriously… Why am I like this?
“Okay!” Sully called pulling me by the shoulders away from his brother, “And, I do believe that’s enough social interaction for one day… What do you say we head to bed!”
“MMmm, I love it when you take control like that, babe!” I turned around wrapping my arms around his midsection bending down so that I could rest my chin on his shoulder.
“Geez, what’re you even saying…” Sully flushed a bright red as he dragged me up the stairs, “You might just get him to punch you in the face yet…”
“Sorry…” I muttered burying my face in his neck as I squeezed him tighter, “I know I’m an embarrassment, huh? I bet you wish you hadn’t brought me here…” My arms squeezed even tighter, “I’m really sorry for being such a mess…”
“Robin.” The brown-haired boy broke in brushing my hair lightly as he turned around hugging me tight to him, “Don’t apologize for being you. I’ve said it before, haven’t I? I don’t want you to pretend around me. I like you just as you are, Robin, and just so you know I’d never call you an embarrassment or wish I hadn’t brought you anywhere. To be honest I don’t think I’ve liked anyone as much as I like you.” He pulled my head up looking me directly in the eyes, “Hmm, you don’t need to cry, Lovely. I love you just the way you are, and I do believe my parents should meet the boy I’m going to marry, right?”
I slowly placed my hands to his cheeks inching our faces together, He sure says some bold things too, huh? “I love you too.” Our faces connected as we got closer and closer to each other. My lips moved against his like it was all they were meant to do. Hearts beat as one as we clenched onto each other desperately. It didn’t last long, but as we pulled apart panting slightly as we rested against each other, probably incapable of standing on our own, I knew that Sully was right. I was going to marry that boy, “I could sue whoever taught you how to do that…” I breathed snuggling against him as we found our way to his room, “I’m seriously jealous that it couldn’t have been me.”
“The same goes for me, ya know…” The boy murmured against my ear as we slipped beneath the covers pulling close to each other as we drifted off, “I kind of wish I could’ve been your first…”
. . .
“Shut up!” Robin’s shrill scream awakened me the next morning as he ran into the bedroom slamming the door behind him, “What the hell do they know about it?!? How I feel…?”
“Sully…” I mumbled rubbing the sleep from my eyes as I rolled over looking at the clock. It was ten AM already, “What’s going on? Did something happen?”
“It’s fine!” he huffed glomping me as he slid into bed with me, “Never leave me and never get tired of me, okay?” He buried his face in my bare chest as he kept his arms locked around my waist.
“Please, don’t lie to me…” I said stroking his messed-up locks as he refused to let up his grip, “I don’t want you to pretend around me either… Or, is it that you can’t trust me…?” My words were desperate as I started to run my fingers through his hair enjoying its lustrous quality.
“Robin Lovely, I beg of you be more confident in yourself… I trust you more than anyone else… I’m just worried if you find out what I used to be like… How I was before I met you.” He finally brought his face from my pecs staring into my eyes questioningly, “If you’re a mess than I most definitely am twice the mess that you are…”
. . .
“Ma’am!” I coursed out tugging gently at his mom’s sleeve, “I have something to say to you and your husband!” His father turned his face up to the two of us taking a sip of coffee, “The thing is that I really love your son and I want to spend the rest of my life with him. I don’t care if you think that he’s just picked out another troublesome character that’ll break his heart, but I know that Sully is the only one that could accept me as I am. He falls in love a lot. I know that. He told me everything. I’ll make sure that there isn’t anyone else and that I can be the man that you are proud to call your son-in-law.”
There came a pat upon my shoulder as Sully’s older brother came up behind me, “Well, I must say,” He remarked smiling a bit as came to stand next to me, “I’ve never heard that one before. You’re still young, but somehow, I know that you won’t mistreat my brother. Hey Mom and Dad, what do you say we give this one a chance?”
