“This way.” I looked nervously at Edward and then at Erik.
If I showed my face to my father without the eye patch, I would get in trouble. He hated to see my eye. Edward looked at me and grabbed the eye patch from me.
“I think you look better without that patch.” He leaned closer to my ear, “Also, I can’t be seen without your eye.” He leaned back and looked at me as he put the patch in his pocket. He turned around and faced Erik, “I apologies for the delay.”
“I am here to serve.” Erik replied as he turned around.
I took a deep breath and followed as they both started to walk back towards the house. As we turned towards the front door, I noticed Father walking towards a horse carriage. He must have seen us and turned toward us. He glared at me when he noticed I wasn’t covering my eye. Erik bowed as he walked up to him, “Sir, I do apologies, but I must ask for a few moments of your time. We have a very important guest; we have discovered in the garden. This is King Edward. King of Dracover.”
He looked at Edward and took a few steps towards him, “How did you end up in the garden?”
“I have to apologies; I don’t remember how I ended up here. I woke up and Prince found me.” I felt daggers stab into me as Father glanced over at me.
“I see.” I looked down at the ground to avoid his gaze, “I can send a messenger to your kingdom.”
“That is one thing I would like to talk to you about. I would like to ask for your permission to stay and learn how to be a proper King. My younger brother right now is running Kingdom of Dracover. I have suspicion that he was the cause of my disappearance. I will work for my room and food here. I ask to work closely with your son here also as a guard. I am very advanced in combat.” Edward kneeled down in front of Father, “When I become a strong enough king to rise above my younger brother, I promise you endless resources from my Kingdom. We are well known for our dragons we raise. I will gladly give you one if you do this request.”
I saw an eye brow raise, as Father looked to go into a thought. He turned around and walked towards the carriage, “Do as you please. Just don’t waste my time or I will kill you myself.” He got inside the carriage and we watched it leave down the road.
