Brief explanation of the old Spanish educational system.
First, kids used to go eight years of General Basic Education (EGB) school, from 6 to 13 years. Then, they would go to either the Professional Education (FP) or either three years of Unified Baccalaureate Multipurpose (BUP), which would led you to a Pre-University Course (COU), after which you could go to college.
