Raven sought the stone giants, the mountains tall. Piercing the heavens above, even Raven could not right the air currents past their heights. However, instinct told her that she need not ascend that high, that her prey would instead find a cave to live inside.

So she descended away from those lofty peaks and moved through the forests that grew upon their steeps. Days passed without meaning until Raven heard a song, sung into the night, and it echoed on the stone in a deathly call.
