This little comic is going to attempt to help people see what it's like to suffer constant misgendering and then constantly be told to have patience with others without receiving any patience in return. In the hopes it will inspire people to check on their nonbinary friends and family without this added harm.
Thank you for this topic! I also feel lots of shame at drawing attention to my enby self, to not being "comfortable" person to others (it means, probably, useful, silent, taking little space, not standing in others' way and so on). That's a good validation right here. That I deserve empathy for being invisible (Sometimes I cannot pass as enby he/him, but it really great to be reminded that THIS ISN'T ONLY MY PROBLEM, but also a problem of a gendered society).
"But I didn't MEAN to insult you!" This comic is meant to help nonbinary individuals and their friends and family have better relationships.
This is a non-fiction comic that explores real life scenarios that were hurtful to real life nonbinary individuals (scenarios have happened to real people who have submitted them for this project). Chris explains why it was hurtful and how people could have done better to make their nonbinary friends and family feel seen, heard, and affirmed.
