It’s true. My wife and I drove an hour to the hospital where she gave birth. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Moving forward, our goal is for all subsequent children to be born within a 20-mile radius of our home.
The one positive of an hour-long drive to the hospital during labor is that you have plenty of time to call your parents and wake them out of bed with the news that they’ll soon be grandparents. So at least we had that going for us.
