Tiny and Fragile

Holding your kid for the first time is pretty amazing. That’s one of those parenting clichés that turns out to be so completely true. It’s truly one of the most surreal moments you’ll ever experience as a parent. I imagine that sixteen...seventeen...eighteen years later when your kid is acting like a jerk about something and you just wanna strangle him, you’ll have this flashback moment to when you were holding him fresh out of the womb and his eyes were tightly shut and that wet stuff was smeared across his eyelids and his head was all mishapen, and you’ll find some way in that moment to look past your teenager’s stupid haircut and horrible fashion sense and see him for who he really is:
