It would be hard to describe an overnight stay in the hospital as “pleasurable.” They certainly try their darnedest to make it as comfortable as possible, but dads get the short end of the stick.
Your wife will get to sleep in the hospital bed, and rightly so. She just pushed a human being out of her body. She deserves the rest.
Your child gets to sleep in what looks like an oversized casserole dish with a small mattress in it. It won’t look like much to you, but your kid won’t be complaining.
Dads, you’ll get the pull-out chair. The nurse will try really hard to sell you on this chair (probably out of guilt), but don’t be fooled. Calling it a “pull-out” is a bit generous. It’s just a footrest. That’s all it is.

I guess this is why many go with labor in their homes. Forget about hippies-jumbo-jumbo, the bed is what matters! XD
