Your first week home will be busy. Not only will people be dropping off meals, but you'll have lots of folks stop by who want to visit and hold your new child. For the most part, this is OK. It's mostly close friends and family. These people don't need an invite.
But there are those people who DO require an invite despite showing up without one. Some of these people include, but are not limited to:
- Acquaintances from church
- Neighbors you've seen out walking their dogs, but have never actually talked to
- Jehovah's Witnesses
This is why it's important to be a Gatekeeper, dads. Chances are it won't be a problem, but be prepared to be the "bad guy" by turning people away so your wife and kid can sleep. It's all part of the Dad Life.
