Additional Fun Info: Most chameleons don't change to extreme colors to camouflage! They change their colors to adjust to temperature and communicate their mood and mating habits to other chameleons. I say most because the Smith's Dwarf Chameleon do change their colors to evade predators and some change their hue to match their environment.
That's so interesting! :O I think I've always assumed they did it to match and camouflage. I guess they are like some octopus in that way that they can use it for camouflaging or otherwise!
