Kile was walking along the water wishing for a fish. (I can really go for a fish sandwich right now.) He sighs. (How long am I stuck here? It’s too lonely.)
“Hi Kile?” Calls a familiar voice.
He turns around to see a woman standing before him. “Daina? She looked as sweet as ever. Five-two Shoulder length wavy brown hair and amber eyes that both charming and bright. He runs to give her a hug, only to pass through her. “What is going on? Why can’t I touch you?”
Instead of an answer she continues to move about while she talks. He waves around him but it was no use.
“The doctor told me I should talk to you and you will pop up. Not right away but later. Just don’t make it too late. You said we would go on a trip for the summer. If you dare break it, see what I’ll do to you.”
(Well I can’t touch or ask her anything, but at least I can see her. That’s good enough, for now. ) He happily walks over to his friend as she walked over to sit on one of the swings. He sat on the other as she told him all the things that has happened to her this week.
Dr Hearth stayed after hours to catch up on some medical reports of other patients as well as the new ones admitted this morning. He Just finish the last one. Jared removes his glasses to rubs his eyes. (I’m so exhausted.) He looks at the wall clock. It’s eleven past ten. (I need to get home. I have a lot of errands to run before I come in tomorrow.) He picks up his case to leave. “Almost forgot.” He runs over and properly logs out of his computer. He quietly makes way to the elevator. (Maybe, I should check in on him one more time.)
Kile lay there motionless in his bed, when the door to his room slowly opens. “Who is this?” Kile stood up in his world. He stairs up to the sky. (Is Jared going to come enjoy the sunset with me?) “Jared is that you? Your just in ti-” There was a fumbling sound. “Wait is it night there? Why is someone stumbling around in my room?” He listens closely but nobody comes.”Hey! Where the hell is security! ”
He listens as the stranger gets closer. Flashes of his accident started to run through his mind. (Black gloves, mix cocktails, sinking into the pool and a knife, legs of someone leaving the water.) “Somebody get in here! Jared!”
Jared walk into the room just then. “What the hell are doing in here? Security!!! ” The intruder lunges at him. The struggle on the floor. The attacker had a mysterious syringe pointing towards his neck. The struggle was getting more difficult as Jared’s arms weaken. (I really shouldn’t have drank with Mike last night.) Security came running down the hall to pulling the attacker away. “Watch his hands, I don't know what the hell that is. I’m pretty sure that it’s nothing nice.” He yelled towards the nurse's station. “Find out what the hell happened to security. There should be two people standing here right now. Where the hell are they?!”
The nurse jumps at the Doctors temper and quickly started dialing the phone. “Yes. Dr. Hearth, right away. ”
Kile fell back down onto his ass. “That was way too damn close. Who the hell wants to kill me? I don’t remember doing anything to anyone. Why?” The fear causes tears to run down his eyes in both worlds. (I just wanted to create and be left alone. I bother no-one. Why does the world keeps attacking me?)
Jared had turned the lights on and ordered new equipment to be brought in. He pulled a handkerchief from his pocket. He wipes the tears from his dampen cheeks. “Don’t be afraid. It’s all over now. I will stay with you tonight. I’m not going anywhere.” He walks to the chair on the other side of the bed. Jared pulls it closer to the bed. “I told you. I’m here to help you.” He reaches out and touches Kile hand. “I'm telling you right now. I won’t give up until you wake up and say hello to me.”
A man in a navy blue suit and tie walk into and office. “Sir.”
“Is it down?”
“No! Sorry Sir, it was a fail.” His hands tightens on the door.
“It’s fine. You may leave. I will find someone else.”
“Sir, if-”
“I said you can leave now. Don’t make it a habit of making me repeat myself.” The man continues to stare out his office window.
“Yes, Sir.” The man closes the door.
“You know what to do.”
A man sitting on the guest couch lips curled into a wicked smile. “Yes, Sir. I know exactly what to do. This time you will hear a pleasurable answer.”
