Petalpaw purred, casing his gaze around camp. He sat near the stream, his tail gently swaying behind him. Then, something in the bushes jingled. It sounded like something the barn would have, strapped to the top of the door. Curious, Petalpaw padded forwards as his ears swiveled in different directions. ``Hello?`` He meowed, tilting his head. The jingling stoped and the was a long pause. Then,(According to Petalpaw) the most beautiful she-cat rose her head from the bushes. She scanned the apprentice before her and tilted her head as well.
``Hello, who're you?`` She questioned, batting her eyes to adjust to the light. Petalpaw, -too flustered to respond- paused, his mouth gaping like a stunned salmon.
``I-- Yo-- You're a kittypet!`` He suddenly hissed, hopping backwards. Indeed, the marvelous she-cat before him had a ribbon collar tied to her neck, in a perfect little bow. Confused, the she padded forwards. `Oh starclan..` Petalpaw thought to himself. `Why am I falling for her? I'm supposed to be a medicine cat!` Petalpaw looked at the kittypet, her silky cream and tan fur.. Her gorgeous green eyes.. Her marvelous ribbon collar..
``S-sir...?`` The kittypet said again, waving her tail in front of Petalpaw's face. The poor apprentice couldn't help but bask in her beauty. Petalpaw twitched his nose at the She's fur came into contact with it, causing him to sneeze. ``Oh, my apologies.`` She said, dipping her head. ``Didn't mean to make you sneeze.``
``I--gahh--- N..No! It's fine!`` Petalpaw suddenly snapped back to reality, shaking his head quickly. ``I just have allergies and you have long dusty fur- N-Not that you have dust in your fur or anything! It just might be a bit dirty! No- Not dirty! It's quite clean! I- I didn't mean to offend you or anything--`` Petalpaw blabbered, his breath visibly speeding up.
``Hah, what are you talking about? I made you sneeze. Case closed, you can stop talking.`` The kittypet chuckled, putting her paw over the apprentice's muzzle. ``Where's your collar? This is really far from the barn, you know.``
``Collar? Ma'am, I'm not a kittypet. I never have been one, to be exact.`` Petalpaw clarified.
``What is this word? 'Kittypet.'`` The she-cat tested the word on her tongue for a few seconds. ``Are you referring to Me? I'm no 'Kittypet', I'm just a house cat, you know.`` She muttered.
``House cat? Kittypet? They must mean the same thing. Us clan cats have--`` Petalpaw spoke, before getting cut off.
``Surely. And, where are your folk? I haven't seen you around the barn at all. Do you live here?`` She mewed. ``What's a clan cat? Is that what you are?``
