We both look over to see who yelled out, both of us a bit startled. A guy and girl walking together in the hallway, presumably, boyfriend and girlfriend, hurried towards us.
"What are you doing to him?!" The girl yells at Bradley. "Leave him alone!" His two cronies look at her and back away. I guess they were scared of her tone, and honestly, I don’t blame them. I’d be crapping my pants if I were Bradley.
"Why should I? I have no reason to. Plus, why do you even mind?" Bradley looks defiant.
"Um, because he is a human being? And he did nothing wrong to you?" Her comment seems to stop Bradley for a second as if he was actually considering what she said. But that was obviously just my imagination because he just went right back to fighting against her logic.
“So? Why can’t I just beat him up just because I feel like it?”
The Girl puts her hand and her hips and rolls her eyes. “You are so dumb. Just go away, or I’m going to scream as loud as I can - and trust me, I can scream pretty loud. The teachers will come to see if I’m okay, and there is nothing to stop me from saying the truth. And they’re definitely gonna believe the sweet, innocent girl over the kids with the bad grades and multiple suspensions.”
Bradley thinks that over, and believe me when I say it’s weird for all of us because he hardly ever thinks. It’s like watching a confused gorilla from the zoo trying to figure out how to escape the fencing of the cage. I noticed that Bradley’s cronies were long gone. Ha! Serves ‘em right.
“Well?” The brunette enquires. “Are you just gonna stand there?”
Bradley huffs and tries to look tough again. “Well, I’ll leave, but just because I’m bored now. Not because I’m going to get in trouble or anything.” Seriously, is he that stupid? He literally just confessed that he was scared he was going to get in trouble-actually I don’t really care anymore. I’m pretty used to his stupidity.
Bradley turns and faces me. Uh oh. “And don’t think you’ve gotten out of this. I’ll just get you worse next time you aren’t around with you're “friends” to save you.” He laughs and walks out the door. Ouch. Notice how he put the emphasis on friends? Yeah, that one hurt.
“Are you alright?” I look up to see the girl and her boyfriend looking back at me with concerned looks.
“Yeah, He didn't get me. I’m too quick, haha.” My laugh doesn’t convince them.
“Are you sure? He looked pretty mean to me.” The guy speaks for the first time. I manage to get a good look at him for the first time. His hair is dyed a greenish-blue color, shaved off on one side. He had lots of piercings on his ears, and freckles covering almost his entire face. Kind of like his girlfriend, who had freckles all over her face as well, blending in with her brunette hair color and amber eyes.
“Yeah, Bradley is actually pretty easy to avoid. Usually, I get right past him, as he’s not very fast. I guess today I was too tired to try and run.” Hopefully, that convinced them? I’m not very social with people, they usually just make fun of me. If I get them away now, maybe they’ll just forget about me like the rest of the population.
“Mm,” The girl was not convinced but seemed to look over it pretty quickly. “Well, since we are already late, would you mind showing us to our next class? We are new, and we decided to skip our on the school tour.”
“Yeah, highly regretting that decision,” The boy says, laughing.
I guess I could show them around, I’m already late as is.
