Months had passed and the day had finally arrived. Today was Malcolm's wedding day and CJ was more than ready. Her hair was in a french braid, with a few bows in it, and she was wearing flat white shoes. Staying true to her word, she was the flower girl. Her soon to be Step-mother would have her day, without a hitch. She didn't like the fact that Sergeant Gainor was the best-man, or that her bad luck charm was a bridesmaid. Her dress was white, with a sash that was a dark shade of purple, and it was strapless and floor-length. Knowing that her new friends the Veers were close by, made her even more anxious. Anything could happen, including a visit from Charles or Abbie. CJ carried a shawl for comfort, and panicked when she saw her. Gisele looked beautiful, as she always did. She could even pull off a purple knee-high dress. The girl's dark hair was in a curly ponytail, and she wore a pearl necklace with stiletto heels.
CJ sighed, forgetting that her bad luck charm was also here. She slammed the door in annoyance, and anger. She reacted when she heard a knock on her door. When she opened it, she was surprised by who she saw.
Krystal, walked in with a duffel bag. She was wearing a turquoise dress with a diamond necklace and heels. Margo came behind her wearing a powder blue dress and wedges, she had a small bag. Lyndie was last, wearing a polka dotted tutu skirt with a white grungy blouse and sneakers, she had a suitcase in her hand. They made themselves comfortable to the tiny room, and started setting up. CJ closed the door, but was stopped by a pointy-toed shoe.
"Oh, yeah--let her in too, Gayle's with us." Krystal explained, she let the eccentric women inside.
"You are CJ, yes?" She asked in a Russian accent
"Uh, yeah. W-What's goin' on?" She asked
"Glad you asked--it's your surprise." Lyndie walked to the vanity "Love your dress, b.t.w." She said and grabbed CJ's arm.
She guided her into a tall chair, Gayle started touching her hair.
"Hey!" CJ slapped her hands away "I like surprises, but WHY do I need one?"
"It's a THANK you...obviously." Margo replied
"Totally! We're thanking you for saving our lives. The fact that you're gonna be in a wedding, is a bonus." Krystal stated
"Oh. But you don't need a makeover to do it, do you?"
"Of course! Makeover's are cosmic! And our favorite thing." Lyndie expressed
"So just sit there and look pretty. Uh, just sit there, okay?" Krystal ordered
"You sayin' I DON'T look pretty?"
She avoided the question. "Um....just close your eyes, and trust us."
The ladies went to work when she closed her eyes. CJ could hear them mumbling to each other and started to grind her teeth.
What's with the white baby basket? How WRONG is that?
This problem could use....some contact lenses.
[Why me? What did I ever do to deserve THIS?] She wondered
Everyone was seated accordingly, as the guests and groom await the remaining wedding party. CJ was whining as she endured every poke, prick, burn, and smudge from the S3s. The makeover was a thank you in their minds, but she disagreed. She wondered who invited them, and how they knew where she would be.
[Stalkers.] She thought, and jerked when she felt a poke.
"O-M-G would you STOP squirming!" Margo oredered
"Don't be so stubborn, we're makin' you a total hottie." Lyndie added, CJ sank into the chair.
"I'm officially outta energy now, so do your worst." CJ closed her eyes and breathed slowly.
Minutes later, she opened her eyes and she couldn't believe it. Her hair was in a long braided bun, with a curly strands hanging down with big sparkling butterfly clips on the sides. She was wearing makeup, but it wasn't obvious or too heavy. The eyeliner was a dark brown, and there was a pale gold, it was subtly under her brows.
"The braid is actually an extension-- it totally makes your hair look longer." Krystal explained.
CJ's eyes stood out through the cosmetics. She was what attractive guys would call beautiful. She jumped out the chair when someone peeked through the door.
"Let's get a move on ladies. It's showtime." A groomsmen said, CJ and the girls hurried out the door and went to the designated places.
Soon the music began, and she walked through the double doors.
All commented among themselves as most smiled when CJ walked past them. Perhaps it was her dress, or the fact that everyone was aware that flower girls were little girls. She smiled nervously, as she dropped handfuls of synthetic white rose petals from her basket. Her paranoia subsided when her father held his hand out to her.
He steered her towards her spot on the left-side of the altar.
Peter was entranced, he'd never been to wedding before. He didn't know anyone who was engaged, so the event had never occurred to him. Guest watched as the bridesmaids walked down the aisle with the groomsmen-in-arm. Each couple went into opposite directions. The women gathered behind CJ, and the men gathered behind Malcolm. When the Wedding March began, Peter followed the eyes of the crowd. Brenda was walking slowly with her grandfather, and kept her eyes on him until he safely sat with the rest of the guests. Her hair was swept over one of her shoulders, and she had a floral headband. Her ivory dress was off the shoulders and it was a mermaid shape with appliques. Her train swept behind her when she walked. She held her grandfather's hand, until he directed towards the groom.

Bailey and Elise were outside. Securing the Area was crucial for a Sanctuary, and they weren't going to assume that there wasn't any danger. Devin and Will were seated on the Bride's side, celebration and leisure were very rare for their extended family. Anne, Liam, and Sebastian were catering the event. They were helping the staff in case the guests needed more food.
Nate and Tense were searching from the roof.
"Pobrecito--still can't fly, huh?"
He chuckled. "No, but they're feelin' better."
"Can I see?"
"Sure." He said, and clenched his fists. Nate grunted and forced the extensions out of his back. His wings were dark brown, with hints of black and white.
He smiled from the easiness, and started to flap.
"Wow! I haven't seen THEM in a long time. I forgot how pretty they are."
"Thanks, I've been practicing in my free time." He arched his back, and his wings merged once again into his back.
"Not hangin out with a certain chica, from a certain car wash?" She teased
"Settle down, we only went out once. There's something different about her though." He smirked
She perked up. "Ooooh! You can't stop smilin'. I've never seen you like this."
"Never felt like this. But enough about me, tell me--is there something goin' on with you and Devin?"
She scoffed. "Way to change the subject. Fine. I hate when girls flirt with him! It makes me feel, embarrassed and insecure. He acts like it's harmless, and ALWAYS gets a big freakin' head about it! He accuses me of me bein' jealous, and I always deny it. I just want MY feelings to be considered sometimes." She sighed and slumped on the ledge.
"There's nothing wrong with that. Maybe he knows EXACTLY how you feel, but he doesn't know how to voice his opinion."
"I hope that's true." She sighed again and watched the trees.
"Just talk to him, what can it hurt?" Nate looked into his binoculars along with his sister.

Peter was seated with complete strangers. Being that the majority of the guests were Rangers, he and his family kept their guard up. He was on the Groom's Side, which was weird because, he'd never officially met Malcolm. The Bride's Side would've made more sense, but the decision was already made. He watched as the couple exchanged vows, but couldn't stop looking at CJ. Gisele was always nice to stare at, but in his eyes, CJ had something rare.
A woman behind him had started to cry, she leaned over to comment on Brenda. "Isn't she just gorgeous?"
He noticed the orange glow around the girl, he smiled. "Yeah, she sure is."
CJ nearly blushed whenever he tried to steal gazes at her. She focused on the ceremony, but smiled to herself. She'd never him dressed up before. He was always attractive to her, but the tuxedo made him nearly irresistible. The lights started to flicker, and CJ felt a little uneasy. The crowd started to panic, and Peter kept his eyes on her.
[Dev, what's going on?] He thought
[Not sure. Let me check somethin'] Devin thought and closed his eyes.
He cringed, even though was still sitting down. His surroundings turned grey, and everyone's bodies and expressions were still. He looked around, and noticed each emotional wave. His entire surroundings were completely grey. As he skimmed through each mind, he noticed how nervous CJ looked. Her wave was changing from orange to purple and back.
[Not now! This can't happen here!] He heard her say.
[Yo, it's CJ! Something's not right, man.] He thought
CJ locked eyes with the Elemental, and gave him a sympathetic look. The lights started to flick into a spark. Everyone started to panic, and murmur among themselves.
[CJ...I'm right here.] Peter thought
[Devin,I'm getting that feeling again!] She thought
[Just hang tight, ceremony's almost over. We'll meet ya in the Vestibule.]
Peter noticed her unbalanced movements.
[Devin!] He thought
[No worries, she'll be safe.]
[Devin! What the hell's goin' on? The streetlights out here are on fire.] Bailey thought
[Don't know, but CJ's in trouble--stay where you are.]
[Devin? Are you guys talkin' wih your minds again? Something's up, isn't it!? Tell me!] Will added
Devin subtly pointed toward CJ. Will saw her painful expression, and glared across to Peter.
The crowd applauded and cheered as the Bride and Groom shared their kiss as husband and wife. CJ smiled politely, but she couldn't hide the pain that rested inside. Once the Wedding March began, she waited for her turn to leave. First, the bride and groom. Next was the maid of Honor and Best-man. She would've ignored bridal etiquette, but she knew if she did that, then she'd a panic for her new parental figure.
CJ walked with a quick pace, and sat in a nearby chair that resided in the Vestibule. She closed her eyes until she felt a hand on her forehead. She knew that gentle touch anywhere: Peter Talbot. Her response was a slow blink of her eyes. She wasn't coherent enough to speak, but she knew that there were other voices. Sebastian rushed to her side with a suitcase.
"It's my first-aid kit. She might need it." He said and took out a thermometer and sanitation gel.
He took her temperature.
His son, and the others reacted after the first beep.
"103.6." The robotic voice said. What could they do? Body temperatures like that, were immediate grounds for hospitalization. They'd have no way of explaining the deadly virus in her system; not without exposing the existence of Veers.
"Tense, take her home. I'll explain to her parents." She nodded and grabbed one of her arms and helped her out the door.
Minutes later, she parked in the back of her residence. CJ twitched at the sound of a slamming door. She vaguely saw a blurred version of someone walking around the hood of the vehicle.
"T-Tense? Wha--?"
"Shh! Sick people shouldn't talk."
Tense helped her to the front door. With a simple fingerprint scan, the locks were undone. Moments later, CJ awoke to the feel of something warm.
"T-Tense."
"It's just a hot towel. Tryin' to break the fever, your boyfriend's not here if you were wondering."
"My w-what?"
"You know--Peter."
CJ pulled her blankets over her head "He's n-not....my boyfriend." She peeked her eyes through.
"Did I....miss the wedding?"
"Nah, not the important stuff anyway. There's soup downstairs for when you're feelin' betta. Talbot told your parents what happened, and I drove you here."
"How'd I....get sick? The virus....must be getting....worse." She said and drifted off to sleep.
Tense put her finger under CJ's nose, to make sure of the obvious.
[Good, she's still breathin'.] She thought and decided to look around. Her room had the essential furniture, but what made it stand out was the fact that the pieces didn't match. The styles were that of Modern, Urban, Victorian, and Americana. She had black walls and grey curtains. Her bed was elevated on a platform, and had an abstract painting of a woman smelling a red rose above her headboard. There was a rocking chair in the corner, and a white painting of a dandelion on the far end of her walls. There were also two strange fishing nets on the other.
"Wow, didn't know those still existed." She said to herself, CJ responded
"Hmm?"
"Oh, sorry didn't mean to wake you."
"It's....okay." She tried to sit up. "What are you doin'?"
"Um, you got nets hanging on your wall, chica."
"Yeah, I had 'em for a long....time. They're my Memory Nets, if you look closer you'll see the Simu-mages." She pressed, Tense stood closer.
They were shining in the distance light, metallic small contraptions that produced Holographic images.
"Oh, yeah. Hijolé, you got a lot of memories." She moved her hand toward them, but hesitated.
"Can I--?" She asked, CJ nodded slowly.
Tense clicked the first one to life, it was one from Mother's Day. The second one she touched was CJ learning to walk. Another was of Gisele and CJ when they were kids. The next one, was that of Patrice and Malcolm's wedding. Tense pressed as many as she wanted, and stopped when she saw a strangely familiar face.
"C-Charles Mathis." She turned over to CJ, but she was asleep.
Tense grabbed the Simu-mage, and put it in her purse.
"I promise I'll give this back." She said to herself, and reacted when she heard the door close downstairs. She looked at her in a panic, and noticed that she had fallen back to sleep.
"Meeting us is a memory now, too--even though it's not the best one right now." She grabbed a marker and quickly wrote all their names down directly on the wall. She placed it into the net. Tense walked her way and pulled the blanket further over CJ, and jumped out of the window to get to her vehicle.
