"What are you even talking about?!" Comet screamed as he chased the laughing girl around the neighborhood.
"Are you not smart enough to understand?" The blonde cackled madly as she dodged another attack on her person.
"Who are you anyway!" Comet grunted when a copy appeared in front of him and punched him in the stomach.
There was another bout of giggles as she weaved through the many cars, posts and trees before her. As Comet tried to catch up to her, she made a sudden stop and a sharp turn. He skidded to a halt and turned to face her, "You can call me Kitsune~"
She blew him a kiss and disappeared from sight. He cursed and stomped his foot on the ground. A crack appeared and the ground started shaking. He looked around and noted how nothing seemed out of the ordinary. With a scowl, he ran off towards his brothers and the loud explosions.
The girl had taken them by surprise. She was way too close to home, so the moment they suited up and left their home she was right there. She had surprised them and it was embarrassing on their part. He gritted his teeth and sped up, especially knowing his sister, Piper and Harriet were in the house.
When he got back, he noticed the fight was getting closer to their house and his eyes blazed with anger. What was she getting on by bringing the fight here? Did she know where they lived? Did she know their identities? Comet narrowed his eyes and shook his head to clear away his thoughts.
"Tempest! Berserk! Bring the fight elsewhere!"
"Sorry but we're being pushed over here!" Berserk gritted out as he crushed the skull of one of the copies.
Comet winced at the action. Perhaps he should steer his brothers from watching too many violent superhero movies. He shook his head once more and looked for Tempest. When he was nowhere to be found, he cursed under his breath and punched one of the copies in the face as he turned to Berserk, "Where is Tempest?"
"He was-" When Berserk looked around he huffed out, "He was right there!"
"Well, he's not!" Comet dodged a group of copies that decided to pounce on him altogether.
"Where in the-"
The two paused when rain started pouring over them. They both watched as the copies all slowly disappeared one by one. Then, they looked up and noticed the eye of the storm surrounded two figures. Tempest and the so-called 'Kitsune'.
"You don't know anything!" Tempest screamed at the smug girl.
"Oh really?" Kitsune snorted as she gestured to the two who were staring up at them. "They really think I'm right."
Right when she said that, a horde of copies appeared and pounced on the distracted duo. Tempest roared and pushed the air to allow him to pounce on the fox-like villain. With a laugh, she easily sidestepped his attack and caused more copies to appear.
"You're weak." She sneered as she looked down on Tempest who was breathing heavily. "You do not truly know how to harness your power. You are weak."
"I am not weak!" Tempest shouted and the sky lit up with lightning.
Kitsune's eyes glittered with awe when the clouds swirled above them and instead of just water, it deposited hard ice. It was raining and snowing at the same time. She turned back to the angry hero and smirked, so it only took a bit of pushing to get him to do this? She giggled and hugged herself, how much does she have to push her brothers for them to realize their true potential?
"You don't know anything..." Tempest growled out. "You don't know just how hard Comet is working, how determined and passionate Berserk is."
"What about you, hero?" Kitsune mocked as she placed her hands on her hips, "What are your feelings?"
Tempest was taken aback. That was when he realized she wasn't calling them weak. She was calling him weak. He clenched his hands and glared at the brat. She had no idea what she was talking about. He was strong. All three of them are. Their parents said so.
"No answer?" Kitsune laughed as she rose herself a bit higher, "Of course, that is expected from you. After all, each one of you alone is weak. You are weak alone. Comet is weak when he is alone. Berserk is weak when he's alone. You can't gain anything alone."
Tempest glared at the villain when she brought his brother back up. They weren't weak. They were just a bit inexperienced. "We... are... not... weak!"
"Oh, is that hesitance?" Kitsune covered her smile with her hand.
"Shut up!" Tempest pounced on her. The moment his hands were about to circle her neck, she disappeared. The adrenaline in his veins were pumping like crazy as he tried to pinpoint her location.
It was one thing to insult him but his brothers didn't deserve it. Sure, Tim could be stupid and impulsive sometimes and Leo was some romantic fool but they were his brothers who had passion, determination, and love for being a hero. For helping those in need. This villain didn't have the right to say what she did.
He continued to look around, even more so when he heard her faint laughter. As his eyes darted around the area, he noticed his brothers' struggle against the copies and he growled. Diving down to help the three, Kitsune appeared behind him and watched with bright eyes.
"They'll come around." She muttered to herself as she blew a stray lock of hair from her face.
She looked around at the storm her older brother created and smiled. He was growing. Soon, the other two would follow. It was all according to plan. Kitsune laughed to herself at her absolute brilliance. With Tempest finding out how to mix their powers, he would no doubt force the two to try until they can do it right. Once they defeat her, she will disappear. Forever. Kitsune would be a fading memory, another face on the news.
She grinned and adjusted her fox mask to cover her face. With a flick of her wrist, the wind carried her to a roof and she watched the scene from there. As she watched her brothers struggle with the copies she hadn't fully furnished yet, all she could do was hope.
"They'll go a long way until they can truly become better."
Kitsune jumped and stared at her father who stood beside her. He was suited in his normal work clothes and he was holding a piece of paper. She tilted her head with a raised eyebrow, "Dad, what-"
"It's right in front of our house." He pointed out immediately.
"Ah, shit-"
"Language."
"Sorry, dad." Kitsune huffed as she crossed her arms. "I actually didn't think much on this."
Daniel hummed and handed the piece of paper over, "Well, while you're busy with this- I received your grades. Well done as usual."
"As usual." She mumbled under her breath and accepted her grades.
"How long will you have them up on this?"
"It'll depend. I want to see how long Will can keep up the rain and hail."
"It's receding." Daniel noticed. "Where did your mom say she was going?"
"The mall."
"Groceries?"
"Yes."
There was a pause as the two watched their family battle it out with unreal copies of a fake villain. Kitsune removed her mask and sighed, "How is Apophis?"
"It's not that good."
"What happened?"
"It was worse than we thought, there was a crack in the system."
"What?"
"Someone's been going in and out and providing him information for the past two years."
