I raise axolotl babies sometimes. I kept 20 eggs in January, they hatched in February, and I raised them to be a bout 4 inches. Last week I shipped one off using my usual shipping methods, which I've used with dozens of other babies. But this little guy didn't make it. My shipping methods were only meant for a couple days, and the package took 4. It was also much hotter than expected. The first I've lost to shipping, it was heartbreaking. I feel horrible that the poor little critter died of heat :( It was such a sweet little animal, always playful and looking up at me, ready for food. It took me a whole day to get back up to my normal productive self. So I made this tribute to the poor little guy (or girl, it wasn't old enough to tell its sex).

I think I'll use this line art to make a series of different axolotl morphs for t-shirts or stickers.
