The spear narrowly missed my head, as I rolled away. The ogre that had hurled it at me was shouting curse that I couldn’t quite understand. I was just a distraction. Why was he so mad at me?!?! I wasn't the one raiding their camp. That’s right, their. Three ogres were angrily chasing me around the clearing, where I could see my team sneaking away. They would come back to help me. I know it. One of the ogres set off a fire, a signal that I was in deep trouble. There was an opening to my left, all I have to do is run really fast. Suddenly, I regret not trying in gym. I take off in a sprint, and almost make it, only to be blocked by a fire springing to life. Where did this come from? The last thing I see is my friends fleeing from the scene, each step weighing heavier on my heart, then something clubs me on the back of the head, making the world dark.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel like death. Numb, sore, and sick. Wait. I should be dead. No one survives an ogre attack alone. Wait, does that mean I’m dead? Or maybe my team came back? Did the Ogres decide to keep me and punish me for my deeds?
“Relax, none of that happened. We just found you at the perfect time.” A man, with black short fluffy hair, and alluring green eyes says from the doorway. Holy smokes, he’s beautiful.
“Thanks, short-stack.” I know I didn’t say that aloud, there was a chance that I might of said the thing about being captured, but not this, I’m not that stupid.
“Actually, you are,” He had this terrible smirk, and I wanted to smack it right off his face. He’s not that pretty anymore. “Awe, you wound me, angel.” ‘Angel’? He called me ‘Angel’? What the heck is wrong with his dude?
“Okay you two, that’s enough,” This time, the voice came from a woman, “we don’t have enough time for bickering. Hurry and get him some proper clothes to meet everyone else.” She glared at the guy in the doorway, turning to leave.
“Wait!” She stopped, surprised that I said anything. “I want to know your names, please.” I say, a little quieter, embarrassed at my previous outburst. She smiled, and came into the room a little more.
“Of course, darling,” She had a really kind and welcoming demeanor, “my names Alira, and this is-” She was cut off by an alarm sounding through the room. Panic flooded both of their eyes, and they shared a look of concern. “We’ll have to pick this up later,” she said, with a kind smile, showing off unreal white teeth, “you stay with him, and make sure they don’t get him, Okay?” she pointed to the man in the doorway, and he let out a rough grunt with a nod of his head.
She left, but the alarms didn’t stop. They seemed to get faster, the rooms blaring red. I look around with panic, noticing that there’s nowhere to hide or a way to escape. Only the door for escape, but he’s there. I could hide under the bed, but if he survives, he’d never let me live it down. I look over at him, and he’s… chuckling? What? He abruptly stops laughing, and his eyes widen. He looks behind himself, and it’s like his features changed. He was darker, he had a bigger, and amazingly, he was way more attractive. He’s in front of me in seconds, and I fall back on the bed, scared of how fast he moved. He’s being really protective right now, and honestly? Hotter than h@#l. I get on my knees, and peer over his shoulder. I can feel myself getting closer to the edge of the bed, watching the door on the opposite wall.
I get really close to him, putting my hands on both of his shoulders, looking over his left. I can hear his breath hitch, so I lean in closer, and I feel my lips press against his shoulder. He looks to the side, his cheeks the slightest hint of pink. I look at him as well, and we start inching together. I can feel his breath against my face, I’m staring into his green Jade eyes. Wait, what am I doing? I don’t even know his name! A look of disappointment crosses his face, and he opens his mouth to say something, but is interrupted by someone clearing their throat. Both of our heads snap to the doorway, where Alira is glaring at us, with two bodies at her feet. I turn as red as a tomato, and the other boy is a darker pink.
“If I was the enemy, he would be dead.” she;s still glaring at him, and he returns the glare, with a little bit of malicious intent. I can feel it, he’s really dangerous. I should be wary. HE could probably snap my neck in half.
“I wouldn’t let that happen.” He was p#&*&d. He did not like her scolding him. “It wouldn’t be your choice, now would it?” She spoke pointedly, not taking any of his crap.
“If we lost him here, we wouldn’t be able to bring him back. It would be a loss we couldn’t recover from,” that seemed to make him understand, but why? I’m not that important. “You can learn about each other later, I’ll pick his clothes for the ball, you go speak to the planners, and make sure everything is running smoothly. With the team as well.” he let out a heavy sigh, but stomped off to follow directions
I look at the woman. She has blonde- almost white- hair, and blue eyes, with a hint of magenta. She had really past and white skin. Like a vampire. Oh my gosh, those bodies...do you think she ate them. I heard laughter from the hallway, it was from him. What’s he laughing at? “I am a vampire.” I stop at those words, and turn to stare at the girl. She’s searching through clothes, trying to find a suit.
