He woke up at 4 am. This was usual. As soon as the pills wore off he would wake in a cold sweat, head filled with visions from the horrible nightmares he had. MinJoon got up and splashed cold water over his face. It didn’t take away the vision still lingering in his head. He’d seen himself, standing at the base of a huge mountain. The mountain suddenly began to move, shaking and falling over on top of him. He’d ran, but couldn’t seem to go anywhere. Then he recalled something else, right before he woke up. Someone had grabbed his hand and pulled him free. He’d looked up at their face, and seen a boy his age, blonde haired, with freckles. It was Sam.
Now MinJoon knew for certain what he thought all along. It was destiny. He turned on his heel and paced straight to Sams room. He knocked and then went in, to find Sam sitting up awake in his bed.
“MinJoon?” Exclaimed Sam in surprise.
“I’m sorry Sam...can I talk to you?”
Sam saw the Same look on MinJoon’s face as when he’d begged for Sam to be his roommate.
“I-o-of course.” Replied Sam.
MinJoon sat down on the edge of Sams bed, and tears pooled in his eyes.
“I lied to you, Sam.” He whispered.
“What?” Gasped Sam.
“I didn’t tell you why I needed a roommate. I didn’t tell you why I wanted you. And I told you I have parents. I actually don’t even know who my mom is,” MinJoons voice cracked and wavered as he talked faster and faster. “Sam I’ve met you before. I’ve known you longer than you’ve known me. And I need you Sam.”
“W-What?” Sam stuttered.
“First grade,” MinJoon said quietly, “On the first day I refused to go inside. I stood outside crying. Then you came. You came up to me and I could tell from your face you had been crying too. You were like a hero to me. You took my hand, and I’ll never forget what you said in your little stuttering voice. Do you remember?”
