Lila scowled as she surveyed the dim and colorfully lit dancefloor. Everything hurt her eyes and her head was pounding to the loud music. She let out a sigh and leaned against the wall. She wondered why she had agreed to go to the stupid party. It made her nauseous.
Another stranger absentmindedly bumped into her, gave her a dirty look and walked off. Lila's scowl deepened at the people's attitude. She barely knew half of the people there as students in her grade level weren't part of the guest list. Just upperclassmen and outsiders that Harriet knew.
Lila licked her lips as she spotted her two older brothers squishing themselves to a corner and talking in quiet whispers. She couldn't hear what they were talking about because of the noise but she bet it was insulting their brother and Harriet. With a simple roll of her eyes, she pushed away from the wall and dodged the strangers as she made her way through the crowd.
The moment she reached the patio, she let out a breath of relief. She was out of that constricted area and in the open air. It was refreshing, really. She looked around the dark garden and at the dark sky littered with stars. She could faintly hear the beat of the music and pinched the bridge of her nose. She would not regret her next actions.
Once she scanned the area for any other students or strangers, she breathed in and let out an icy breath. It expanded around the garden and coated the area in thin white dust. She grinned at the beautiful sight before her as she flicked her wrist. Her hair lengthened and turned blonde. When she blinked, her eyes turned a fiery orange.
She giggled as she controlled the winds to lift her up from the ground. She twirled for a moment before she hid behind a tree. Stripping her civilian clothes off, she revealed her "villain" outfit underneath. She pulled the mask she planted on the tree on her head and positioned it over the right side of her head. She pulled out three orange and white pins and pulled her now curly hair into a messy up-do.
She fixed her clothes on the tree and dropped down. Lila dusted her orange dress and allowed the ruffles to fall into place. Despite wearing heels, she felt comfortable in her outfit and she almost felt free. With a loud cackled she twirled and faced the house. With a loud and thunderous clap, she sent the white dust flying towards the house.
While it had looked like snow, soft and rounded, Lila had shaped it that it was sharper and finer. As it penetrated the house in a shower of white shrapnel, she heard the panicked screams when some of the dust went through the open doors or sliced through the walls.
When the crowd of teenagers fled out to see the commotion, Lila, or Kitsune, noticed the three panicked and shocked faces of her brothers. She grinned and regarded the teens, "Welcome one and all to my wintry wonderland."
The three brothers almost screamed when Kitsune spread her arms out wide and white shrapnel rained down, as if coming from her long and baggy sleeves. They pushed everyone out of the way and looked around the area wildly.
"We can't fight her like this." Will hissed to his brothers as he pushed them to the side, "Did you even bring your uniforms?"
"I always have mine on hand." Tim shrugged, "Who knows if there's an opportunity to slam someone's face in."
"I didn't think-" Leo stuttered out, "Who would've thought that she would even try and attack Harriet's house!"
"Not me." Will growled, "Tim distract her while Leo and I run over to grab our uniforms."
Tim cackled as he ran back to the house, "Maybe next time you'll bring it with you everywhere!"
"Whatever you impulsive freak!" Will rolled his eyes. "Leo, let's go."
"But-"
"Let's go!" Will hauled his brother over the fence. He took off with his older brother lagging behind.
Kitsune narrowed her eyes at the two escapees but before she could attack them Berserk appeared. He gave a maniac grin towards her and clapped his hands together. She blocked the oncoming sound wave with crossed arms but she was pushed back nonetheless. She gave the older boy a wry grin, "Here to play around with me alone? Where are your fabled... brothers?"
"They're not here right now," Berserk responded lightly, "So why don't we dance, villain?"
Kitsune laughed and allowed her hands to drop to her sides, "Bold of you to assume I would be the one fighting you."
Before Berserk could respond, Kitsune vanished from sight and copies of her appeared around him. Not only her but there were a few copies of his brothers thrown into the mix. A growl made its way to his throat when he saw the blank eyes and stares the copies gave him.
With a roar, he swiped his arm to the right and a large gust of wind pushed the copies back. He then turned his attention to his left and charged at the copies of his opponent. The fight was short because as Berserk noted, the copies weren't even trying that hard. They evaded most of his blows but most of the time he actually hit them that they had dissipated.
He grinned as he realized that Kitsune may be slipping. He twirled to the right, ready to get back into action after plummeting the copies, but he deflated when he noticed the glowing aura that surrounded the copies of his brothers. He gulped when he realized that the other copies were decoys and this one was the real thing.
"Are you hesitating, Berserk?" The voice taunted, seemingly coming from the copies in unison.
The hero grunted and shook his head. This wasn't something he expected. He cursed internally at his stupidity. If his brothers were there, Will would have screamed at him for his hindsight and Leo would just shake his head in disappointment. Berserk glared at the copies as he gritted his teeth. There was no time for him to think about what his brothers think.
"Are you not going to attack?" The voice came from behind him. He turned and glared at the bored and relaxed villain, "Are you that hesitant to attack your brothers?"
"Is that a fucking challenge?"
"Is it, Berserk?" Kitsune mocked, crossing her arms pretentiously. "Is it a challenge that you can overcome?"
"It is cause you don't know me!"
"Huh, that's funny..." Kitsune gave him a sharp smile, "That's the same thing your brother said!"
"Oh yeah? Well, I don't care cause that's the truth!" Berserk barked out, "You don't know anything!"
"What if I do? What if I know you and your brothers are struggling with your powers?" She circled the stagnant and stiff hero. "What if I know about your little sis-"
"Shut up!" Berserk cut her off. Lila had nothing to do with their superhero business. The three had tried their best not to bring her into it. "Don't you dare-!"
"What?" Kitsune continued to goad the boy on. "Bring your sister into this?"
"Yes!" Berserk screamed back desperately. He's failing so badly. How did the villain know about Lila? Did he just confirm her suspicions? This was all frustrating. "I- you can't just- She doesn't belong in the battlefield!"
"And how do you know that!" Kitsune screamed back, her voice cracking. It had unknowingly went from her goading her brother on to finding out just why her brothers looked down on her. "How do you know all that if you don't even know about your brother! I bet you can't tell what is real and what are copies!"
"I can!" Berserk roared. "I can definitely tell the difference! I'm not stupid!"
"Then show me, hero!" Kitsune grinned maniacally which was unseen by the anger-driven hero as he turned and drew his arm back. She noticed the electric charges as it jumps across his skin and costume.
Three different colored eyes widened when the electrically charged punch came into contact with Tempest's face.
