Back on the Big Gete Star, Tarble stares at his damaged helmet sitting isolated within a dark room. Staring at the identity he shrouded himself behind for so long, he reminds himself of the time before he became NightHollow, when he was just an exiled prince.
The day when Tarble was sent off world, he crashed landed on Planet Vitis where the inhabitants questioned amongst themselves of the mysterious pod’s arrival. Tarble only an infant, stares at the moon shining in the night sky and transforms into a Great Ape, raging uncontrollably over the inhabitants and their home. As the night turned into day, Tarble hid away within the mountains of the planet, becoming a tale amongst the villagers of a ferocious man turned beast every full moon. Within the passing years, the villagers often gave offerings at the opening of the cave Tarble lived within in order to appease the mere saiyan who, at the time, was only a mere child.
One day, a woman, short with black eyes, wearing a purple and white top, white gloves, and purple footwear. She holds a basket full of fruit standing at the opening of the cave. She places down the basket and begins to step away from the cave opening, but her curiosity gets the best of her and she stays. Footsteps can be heard coming from within the cave and the woman stands, waiting to see the beast in person and none other than Tarble appears from the dark where he sees her and then the basket of fruit. His appearance is rather primitive wearing the hides of one of the planet’s many wildlife as clothing. He ignores her and sits down to eat the basket of fruit as she stands watching. He looks at her.
“You’re not afraid of me are you?” he says.
She nods in confidence. Tarble ignorant continues to eat, shoving a green fruit that quite resembles an apple. He looks back at her. She’s still there.
“You should leave. You’ve heard stories about me right?”
“I have” she responds.
“You speak? What’s your name?”
“My name is Gure.”
Tarble looks at her up and down. She’s relatively small compared to his height, but he senses something within her that he hasn’t felt before within him. He stands up and heads back into the cave, taking the basket with him.
“Well Gure, thank you. You should leave. I’m not someone you should be around.”
Gure stands there amazed to see the tale, she’s heard growing up, actually in person. She heads back down the mountain unaware that Tarble was still at the mouth of the cave watching in the shadows. From that day on, Gure would frequently visit Tarble at the mouth of the cave with baskets full of food. At first, Tarble was resistant of her being there, but as time went on he liked her company. One night it rained, Gure appeared at the mouth of the cave, covering the basket and Tarble was waiting for her, welcoming her to sit within the opening. The two interact with each other in a way Tarble had never felt before in his life. He starts to feel a sudden happiness within his heart that was never there thanks to her. He looks up at the sky to see the moon within the waning gibbous phase.
“It’s almost a full moon” he says.
“Why is it that you turn into a beast and destroy my village” Gure asks.
Tarble is unsure how to answer. He looks at the rain falling, hitting a puddle beside him and the reflection of the moon seen within it alongside himself.
“I can’t control it. I don’t know how is a better answer. It’s a rage that consumes me from the inside and the only thing I desire would be death and destruction. From what I know of it’s a part of my heritage.”
Tarble stares out at the rain as Gure only stares at him in awe. She feels his pain and holds his hand, staring at him with a connected feeling in her eyes.
“Do you have to take after it? Your heritage?”
“I barely even know it. I can’t even remember what my family fully looks like. I was abandoned.”
Tarble looks at the moon as the stars shine around it. The rain had stopped and it’s beautiful. He looks at Gure who the moon shines upon and he feels something in his heart again he hasn’t felt until he first met her. The two look out as the sky becomes more clear and the nature lights of the wilderness awaken to brighten the night.
“You weren’t abandoned. You have me.”
Several months go by since and Tarble has been introduced to the local villagers by Gure. She explains who Tarble is as he gets accustomed to their society and ways of life. To his surprise, many of the Villagers welcome him and he slowly begins to change.
One day, a group of Raiders arrive and begin to ransack the place. Guns drawn and hostages taken, they intend to take everything and burn it all down. Tarble appears and easily takes down each raider with ease before facing the leader. The Leader grabs Gure and takes her hostage and Tarble is provoked.
“You let her go” he says.
The Leader isn’t intimidated until Tarble’s energy increases and then the Leader feels the intensity increased within the atmosphere around them as Tarble appears to have an uncontrollable rage overcome him. As Tarble walks towards, the Leader lets go and quickly starts to apologize but that’s not enough to stop Tarble from gripping him by the neck, preparing to crush it like a soda can without hesitation.
“Tarble stop! You don’t have to!” Gure shouts.
Tarble comes to his senses thanks to hearing her voice and he drops the Leader onto the ground. He looks at her, glad to see she’s okay, and Gure walks up to him and they embrace. The Leader and whatever was left of his gang flee. The Villagers reappear and praise Tarble for being their protector and is hailed amongst the people.
