Several years pass, Tarble is the village’s protector and seeming has controlled his rage. He eventually marries Gure, living in a hut. Life is great for them and it’s peaceful. Tarble visits the cave he stayed in for all those years with Gure and finally confronts the past he never knew where deep in the cave where he slept lied the remnants of the pod he arrived in. On the ground are trash and skeletal remains of animals that have been eaten. Make-shift figures out of straw are left around the ground and what’s left of the suit Tarble arrived in lies beside the pod. Gure notices on the walls drawings carved in, appearing to be an outline of a person with spiky hair.
“Who is this?” she asks.
Tarble looks at the drawing himself and he clenches his fists, raising his power level unintentionally through anger. He calms himself before answering.
“Someone who could’ve been there for me. I’m not sure who they are though” he responds.
Gure examines the pod as Tarble begins to lift it into his arms. He carries it out of the cave and she follows behind.
“What are you going to do with it?”
“I’m going to destroy it.”
“Don’t you wanna fix it and see where you came from and why they left you here?”
“It’s simple. They didn’t want me and who needs them anyway? I’m fine here where I am.”
Tarble tosses the pod into the air and blasts it away with ease. Gure watches as the shrapnel falls to the ground and there’s nothing left of the pod beside scraps. Tarble walks back down the path towards the Village as Gure examines a piece left intact.
Days pass and Tarble is helping restore a falling hut and completes it. He walks to his home to find Gure already hard at work on something in the back. Tarble goes to find her and he sees she’s busy finishing up designing a high-tech suit, sleek in design.
“What is this?” he asks her.
“It’s you’re new outfit.”
“Outfit?”
“I thought it would be different for you. You protect our village so I felt you could use a cool uniform to suit.”
Tarble examines it closely and it’s smooth and texture and metallic. The design is similar to the planet’s inhabitant’s day to day uniforms, but the color stands out of a dark blue. He’s amazed by her design and it feels familiar in texture to him.
“I used the shrapnel from your pod and whatever was left of the suit you came in and combined it with a few alloys” Gure explains, “I felt despite not knowing much of your heritage, it’s good to embrace some part of it to remind you.”
Tarble is speechless and smiles saying, “thank you.”
Suddenly, a loud explosion occurs outside. Tarble and Gure exit their home to find many of the Villagers running for their lives. They see above the Village is a massive ship and many soldiers descending from it destroying the place. Tarble immediately goes inside and changes into the new suit and heads out to stop them.
“Get somewhere safe!” he tells Gure.
Many soldiers fire upon the villagers and Tarble intervenes. He wastes no time with them and defeats them one by one as they come down from the ship. Tarble feels the suit is different, the sleekness and the texture really helps him maneuver a lot faster and smoother in combat as he takes on the soldiers.
“Who are these guys?” Tarble says to himself.
Then, one soldier tackles him and sends him to the ground. He breaks free of the hold and makes a distance away to breathe. When he looks to see who his next opponent is, Tarble finds none other than Dore. Dore pounds his fists together before realizing who he’s facing.
“Well well well boys look who we have here” he says.
Behind him arrives Neiz and Salza as they perch themselves on top of rubble and they smirk, interested in their sudden discovery.
“Looks like some monkeys did actually survive” Salza comments.
Tarble has no clue who they are and what they speak of and he wastes no time in asking and instead just charges straight at Dore. Each punch causes Dore to move backwards, but Dore isn’t afraid but rather amused.
“This runt actually has some fight in him.”
“Let me get in on the fun” Neiz says, flying in to fight Tarble.
Tarble fights both Neiz and Dore at the same time and he’s having a tough time doing so. Having only fought of raiders and other animals native to the planet, Tarble hasn’t really ever fought anyone who was much like a fighter such as himself. He tries to dodge certain attacks but Neiz and Dore together are a power house with Dore’s brute strength and Neiz’s immense speed. He manages to find an opening and tricks Neiz into hitting Dore before separating the two away from each other with two full power energy waves to counter.
“This guys no half bad” Neiz responds.
“Right?! Sucks he has to be saiyan though.”
Tarble is ready to go once more and as he charges at them, Salza intervenes and the two fight equally in stature. Salza slashes with his energy blade and Tarble dodges left and right before stopping it with one hand. Salza tries to break free, but Tarble has him in his grasps.
“Enough!”
Tarble and Salza look and Cooler has arrived. He walks towards the two and Tarble lets Salza free and prepares to fight once more. Cooler examines him up and down and realizes what he’s dealing with and smirks.
“So, there are a few that had survived” he says.
“What are you talking about?” Tarble asks.
“You are of saiyan ancestry no doubt. Your tail gives it away.”
“Saiyan?”
“I figure you must’ve been an infant when your home world was destroyed so it makes sense if you don’t full know.”
Tarble keeps his defenses up as Cooler stands still waiting for him to make a move.
“Before we continue to chatter, I can clearly see you’re itching to fight. Come on, then. I want to see.”
Tarble charges at Cooler and the two fight. Clearly it’s seen that Tarble is a far less experienced fighter compared to Cooler as Cooler dodges each flurry of punches thrown at him. Tarble distances himself and fires a volley of ki blasts at Cooler. The Armored Squadron are prepared to deflect the attacks for Cooler but he signals then to stand back.
“Do not interfere.”
Cooler channels his energy straight into the palm of his hand and creates a Death Ball massive enough to destroy an entire moon and fires it at Tarble, absorbing his energy volleys in the process. Tarble has not seen anything like this before and is not sure if he can take it head on, however he has no choice. Tarble extends out his arms to grab the death ball coursing with raw energy that begins to burn his finger tips. It’s a struggle to stop an immense force as Tarble begins to shake. He can’t bear it anymore as Cooler only watches on, impressed by Tarble’s potential. Tarble raises his energy and tries to lift the death ball with all he’s got and after a moment of struggle he pushes the death ball straight into the atmosphere where it explodes, clearing the sky. A sigh of relief on his face, Tarble didn’t have enough time to notice Cooler had quickly appeared and knees him on the side of his rib cage, sending him flying straight into the ground.
Gure notices her husbands defeat and runs over to him to help him up.
“I told you get somewhere safe” he says.
Suddenly, Cooler grabs her and grips Tarble up into the air using his tail. Gure tries to break free of Cooler’s grasp by hitting him on his shoulder but to no avail. Cooler tightens his grip on Tarble’s neck.
“The more you hit my shoulder woman, I will tighten my grip on his neck” Cooler states.
Gure stops and only pleads as Tarble tries to breathe. He reaches out to Gure and Cooler notices the connection between Tarble and Gure easily deciding to toss her aside and tightening his hold on his neck.
“Please…don’t hurt her” Tarble begs.
Cooler only looks at the desperation on Tarble’s face and looks over to Gure beginning to cry for her husbands safety. Cooler extends out a finger towards her as energy begins to build up. Tarble sees this and tries with all the strength he can muster to try and break free. Cooler watches, waiting. He sees something in Tarble that he wants to draw out. Cooler decides to fire the death beam straight at Gure. Gure had nowhere to go as Tarble watches and immediately he unleashes a powerful wave of energy from his body to break free and speeds towards Gure and shields her from the attack with the death beam piercing through him instead. Tarble falls unconscious as Gure runs over to him.
“Tarble!…Tarble!….TARBLE!!!”
Moments later, Tarble awakens in a dark room chained to the ground and his hands locked together. He tries to break free but he realizes his ki is being suppressed.
“You have potential.”
Tarble looks around the room to see where the voice is coming from when out of the shadows comes Cooler. Tarble is angry and tries to reach out towards him but he can’t. Cooler stands there arms crossed waiting for Tarble to stop.
“I assure you your wife is still alive and the planet is unharmed.”
Tarble is surprised to hear Cooler of all people say this after what he had just did and feels conflicted on trusting him. Cooler has the chains taken off of Tarble and continues to stand waiting to see what Tarble will do. Tarble thinks about his next move but decides to just listen.
“How can I trust you?” he asks.
“Because if I was lying you would already be dead” Cooler responds, “I chose to spare your planet, impressed by your potential. I’m going to offer a deal: you join me and your home is spared.”
Cooler has footage of Planet Vegeta’s destruction play behind him and Tarble is unsure how to react.
“This was your home world. It was destroyed by my brother, Frieza. Assuming upon your reaction you had no clue.”
“I barely remember it. I was abandoned while I was an infant.”
“I see. Well, you and I are on similar paths. I too was abandoned…by my father. I would figure your father had done the same.”
Tarble has no words for Cooler could possibly be right. Ever since he was sent to that planet no one of his race cared to find him or bring him home.
“What more do you know about me?” Tarble asks.
“I know enough. I can see it within you, you’re much like me. Abandoned. Tries to prove himself to people who thought less of them.”
Cooler was on the money with that statement for Tarble’s reactions had him agree. He looks at Cooler.
“If I join you not only with you keep your word on my home’s safety, but will you tell me about my heritage?”
“I will.”
“Then, I’m in.”
The lights turn on and the Armored Squadron have been standing in the dark the whole time watching and waiting. They greet their newest member with open arms and Dore gives him a huge hug.
“Hope no hard feelings for earlier. You are a tough one” Dore says.
Salza shakes his hand.
“You’re not have bad” he tells Tarble, “we have a present for you. A welcome gift as you may.”
Neiz reveals a box and inside is the suit his wife designed for him now all clean and modified. The color is black and a helmet is included with it. Tarble examines the suit closely seeing the differences clearly made to the suit.
“Figured you’d need a new look” Dore says, “the helmet is a new design that’s being developed but it has the same functions as our scouters and more.”
Tarble places the helmet on seeing that it fits. He then takes it off as Neiz and Dore look proud to see another formidable fighter joining their ranks.
Salza speaks to Cooler alone.
“Sir” he says, “you think it’s a smart idea to bring a monkey into the fold?”
“My brother was a fool to be afraid of them. Wiping out one of his greatest is a mistake. This one clearly hates his race it be a waste to kill him.”
Cooler looks out over Planet Vitis as his forces are preparing to land and set a base of operations for now having control over the planet.
“If I train him. He’ll be a worthy addition to my arsenal.”
Tarble returns to the room in his newly modified suit and it feels different. He has his tail out and twirls it around. He looks down at his helmet and sees the reflection of himself before he places it on.
Back in the present day, Tarble stands, unmasked, beside Cooler and the rest of the Armored Squadron facing Goku and the others on the ground. He gives a death stare at Vegeta who stares back at him. The tension continues to rise.
