Immediately after breakfast, preparations for Kim Bumsoo's arrival began. No matter how many times Sam told MinJoon how clean the apartment was, MinJoon insisted on vacuuming every carpet and dusting every surface. Sam watched with concern as MinJoon repeatedly vacuumed the same rug over and over. It seemed MinJoon had come unglued, as he literally began picking specks of dust off the floor with his fingers. Sam couldn’t watch any longer.
“Hey minjoon?” He put a hand on MinJoon’s shoulder.
“What’s up?”
“Ummm...maybe could we go get lunch together?” Sam suggested. MinJoon stood up, smiling, and the crazed look left his eyes.
“I would love to go to lunch with you!” MinJoon exclaimed, forgetting all about the specks of dust. “Where do you want to go?”
“I don’t mind. You can pick.” Sam shrugged. That might have been of mistake. Of course MinJoon picked the fanciest most expensive place on town.
They drove there in MinJoon’s Tesla, and Sam had to remind MinJoon to keep his eyes on the road.
Sam followed MinJoon into restaurant, and they went to the counter to ask for seats. A youngish man wearing a tuxedo met them and asked how many seats in proper voice.
“Lunch for two.” Said MinJoon, smiling at Sam. The man frowned and curled his lip.
“Right this way.” He said in a stiff voice. MinJoon and Sam looked at each other with concern. What was wrong with the waiter? He led them to the far corner of the back of the restaurant and pushed a second chair up to a one person corner table. Sam looked at MinJoon’s face and saw he looked angry. But they didn’t say anything and sat down at the table. The waiter gave them one last disgusted look and turned on his heal.
The boys waited for 20 minutes, and no one even came to give them menus.
“I’m gonna talk to them.” Said MinJoon, looking angry.
“It’s okay, I’m sure they just forgot about us.” Said Sam. “Just ask for menus.”
MinJoon stood up and stopped a passing waitress.
“Excuse me ma’am,” he said politely, “can we have some menus?”
The girl looked over at the table where Sam was sitting and looked aghast.
“Oh no! No one brought you two menus yet? I am so sorry!” She gushed,” I hope it doesn’t ruin you twos date!”
“It’s fine!” Said MinJoon, “and we’re not actually dating...yet.” He added with a wink.
“Gotcha.” Smiled the waitress, and went to get menus.
MinJoon and Sams lunch went very pleasantly until their food arrived. It was the rude waiter, and he glared at each of them as he carelessly shoved their plates to them.
“Excuse me sir,” Said Sam nervously, “I didn’t order this...”
The waiter quickly glanced around to make sure no one was there, then leaned over and hissed on Sams face.
“I don’t give a **** what you ordered, disgusting ******.”
Sams eyes prickled with tears as the waitress turned and tried to walk away. But Kim MinJoon was there. Sam watched in shock as MinJoon violently shoved his chair back and stormed up to the waiter. He grabbed the idiot by the arm and yanked him back.
