Eye Like Glass

Chapter One

Chapter One

Nov 20, 2019

Our story begins on the eighteenth of February, when a girl was born. Her name was Samantha Rivens. Her mother and father were overjoyed at the thought of finally having a child to raise. After three miscarriages, their hopes had diminished. Samantha was a new opportunity and was a bright light for them.

Samantha was unique in a few ways. When she was born, she cried for a mere moment before going silent. She looked around with curious green-blue eyes. Like windows, they showed her emotions clearly- though the rest of her face seemed like a blank slate

Samantha was raised by her parents for the first few years of her life. However, her parents became more distant, due to their growing business building houses. Around age four, her grandmother took over raising Samantha.

Grandma Mae was kind and generous. She had dazzling eyes, similar to Samantha's. Her smile was warm and welcoming. She had short silver hair that only added to her welcoming image.

Throughout Samantha's youth, Grandma Mae would teach her, give her wisdom and things she liked. Samantha gained a large amount of her personality from Grandma Mae. Grandma Mae taught Samantha to love herself- from her straight black hair to her wide feet.

Though Samantha was a bit spoiled, she was humble. Grandma Mae taught Samantha to generosity and kindness. She understood Samantha and held her close, showing her granddaughter more love than any other person had.. The two grew so close that they could have conversations without even speaking.

When Samantha started school, Grandma Mae would help her as best she could in her old age. From dealing with bullies to talking to teachers, Grandma Mae showed her the most virtuous way to move through life. One of the things Grandma Mae taught Samantha was to rub the hem of her sweater that she made her.

Grandma Mae was a saint, known through the town as an angel. She volunteered at shelters and helped out everyone she could. To Samantha, she was the world.

I already get attached to Grandma Mae and then I see the "Horror" tag.
I think by myself: "Oh, no. Not Grandma Mae..."
