*Shinso’s POV*

I sat in my seat towards the front of class and turned to Katsuki Bakugo, my best friend. I smiled brightly at him and he looked at me with a raised eyebrow. “And what is it that you are so happy about?” he asked me as I continued to smile like I was out of my mind. “Okay! So, you know the really quiet guy who is in most of our classes? The one I’ve been watching for a while now?” I ask him and he responds with a nod. “Well… I kind of noticed him staring at me when he was zoned out, so I went over and talked to him for the first time. He seemed really shocked. But I got his number! And I could not be more ecstatic to get to know him! I hope he’s as awesome as he seems!” I say excitedly, bouncing a little in my seat.

Katsuki smirked at my excitement, “you are far too happy. Calm down. You don’t even know if he is into guys, or if you can share your biggest secret with him.” I stopped bouncing and looked down at my hands. After a moment, I ring my hands together and look at Katsuki, “But I want to trust him. He doesn’t seem like a bad person. He actually seems really sweet and nice. His hair looks really soft and he blushes a lot. I cannot wait to hear his laugh or see his smile. I wonder what kind of things he likes to do. Do you think he would be willing to see a movie with me? I mean just as friends… not as a date or anything…” Katsuki shakes his head at me and starts to pack his books up, since it is almost time for the lunch bell, “I think you need to calm down a little before you scare him. I mean look at him. He seems so shy and quiet, like he just wants to vanish from the world. You don’t want to scare him off now do you?” I shake my head and start to pack my things as well. Finally, the lunch bell rings, and we exit the classroom and head to the cafeteria.

Once we are in line for our food, I take a look around the cafeteria. I am looking for his black hair since he is taller than most of the people here, but I cannot seem to find him anywhere. I feel my lip poke out in a pout as I turn back around in line. I hear Katsuki chuckle from my left. I look over at him, pout still on my face, “what are you looking at?” He shrugs, “You just look really disappointed that he isn’t here. He never eats here. Why would he? The guy has no friends. Didn’t you say you got his number? Why not just text him when we sit at our table?” I immediately perk up, “Katsuuuuki! You are so right! Let’s hurry and get our lunch so I can do that!” I hug Katsuki before I hear a throat being cleared behind me. I look back to see Kaminari Denki, Katsuki’s boyfriend. I shyly smile at him and let go of Katsuki, stepping back to his side, waiting patiently in line to get our lunch. I glance out the corner of my eye and see Kaminari wrap his arm around Katsuki’s waist and pull him in, giving him a kiss on the temple, causing Katsuki to flush bright red and try to push him away. I look away, feeling a pang of jealousy in my chest.

I want that so badly. I want someone to not be ashamed of me and to openly love me. I want someone who will always be by my side like that. I let out a heavy sigh and step forward, finally getting my food and walking to a table. I can hear Katsuki and Kaminari following me, but right now I honestly don’t really care. I sit at our usual table and I pull out my phone. I scroll through my phone and smile when I see his contact. I click it and start a new message.

Shinso:

Hey, it’s me. Shinso. The one from class that you gave your number to.

Shinso:

I was just wondering if, I don’t know, maybe you wanted to hang out some time?

Shinso:

I would have asked you in person, but I noticed you don’t eat lunch in the cafeteria.

Shinso:

I hope to hear back from you soon! :D

Tamaki <3:

Hey Shinso, it’s Tamaki. But I’m sure you already knew that since you texted me first.

Tamaki <3:

I would love to hang out sometime. Are you maybe free this afternoon since it is Friday and all?

Tamaki <3:

No, I don’t eat in the cafeteria. I go to the library for my lunch and since my next period is a free period, I stay here through that before my last class of the day.

Tamaki <3:

It would be great to speak with you soon too, hopefully this afternoon if you are free. 

Shinso:

Sure! I am so free this afternoon! Do you want to get together and do something? Maybe go to a café and get to know each other? Or we can go to a movie?

Shinso:

Crap! I didn’t mean to make it sound like a date! I wouldn’t want to make you uncomfortable or anything!

Tamaki <3:

How about a movie, dinner, and a walk in the park after? Then I can walk you home if you want.

Tamaki <3:

Can I still call it a date anyway? ;)

I grin down at my phone before I see a hand waving in my face. I look up to see Katsuki and Kaminari staring at me. “Were you even listening to me? You haven’t put that thing down since we got to the table! You haven’t even touched your food!” Katsuki scolded me. I blush and give him a small smile, “I’m sorry, I wasn’t listening. What were you saying?”

“I was asking if you wanted to have a play date this afternoon? It’s been a while,” Katsuki says, looking at me with hope in his eyes.

“I’m sorry Katsu, I kind of have a date this afternoon,” I tell him smiling from ear to ear.
