A hunting party wound through pines,
under a moonless sky,
as the shivering snow wept,
and from the woods,
came a call like thunder.
A stag from the dark,
glowing bright as the stars,
northern lights trailing on horns,
swept forth like ribbons in the night.
And the hunters halted,
surprise and fear buried,
down to their marrow,
of the god who found them.
