The night was chilly and overcast, the air was muggy, and the rain pounded down on the shadowy figure in the alleyway. The hoodie didn't give much protection from the rain, and the sliver of re-dyed maroon red hair was already coming out. Damien groaned, he'd have to go home and re-dye it for a third time.
As he waited in the alleyway, another shadowy figure came along, and between hushed tones, a conversation took place. The rain made it easier to talk normally without others hearing in, but even in a dark and damp alleyway, that was as unassuming as the next alleyway, everyone had ears everywhere.
“Where is he?” Damien said to the figure, who come to find out, was Jessica, a high runner in the grand hierarchy of Damien's drug kingdom.
“I don't know.” Jessica replied, curious herself. The man they were attempting to meet at this particular alleyway was none other than CEO Matt Williams, the biggest conglomerate in the east side of the US. Damien still found it funny that he had Matt ready to do his bidding at just one call on the phone.
“Omega 1, call that filthy bastard on the phone, I can't afford to wait this long.” Damien felt the rain seep into his clothes, making them itchy and wet. Disgusting.
“Yes sir.” Jessica, or, Omega 1, moved slightly away from Damien and pulled out her disposable phone. She heard a ring from nearby, he was close. She followed the ring, that, despite the rain, had rang clear as a bell.
“Hey! Get over here!” Jessica said sharply in a hushed tone. As she got closer she called again, but Matt Williams did not reply. Jessica continued to walk closer, and found his phone on the ground, with a miss call from “Dealr”.
“Dealer? Fucking dumbass.” She picked it up, and glanced around the sidewalk. She was a little ways away from the alleyway where her boss stood, getting soaked. She had made a left turn when the ring came, and she had been stopped in front of a clothing store that was next to a park. It was a small park, with dewey, dark green grass and a pond. The smallest park, Honey Pond Park to be exact, if Jessica remembered correctly.
“Omega 1! What's taking so damn long!” Over the rain, she heard her boss's voice, deep, a little rugged, but sounding silky when he said her nickname. All the other omegas and a few betas of the hierarchy knew she had a small thing for the boss. Though no one understood why, and she didn't quite understand either, but, she knew she liked him, and that was it.
“Alpha, his phone was on the gr—!” Damien heard her voice, until it was silenced. Someone knocked her out, he felt it, so he pulled out his gun and squatted down behind a dumpster. Scoping the two walls of the alleyway, he called out.
“Whoever you are, come out now, I have no time for games.” Damien was clear and his voice icy, but whoever had knocked out Jessica had clearly only come for Jessica, and not himself.
“Dammit." He breathed and stood up, still holding his gun tightly, finger on the trigger and safety off. He was ready to hurt someone, if they jumped out at him.
Slowly, Damien made his way out of the alleyway, and saw Matt holding a baseball bat, looking down at Jessica's body on the ground. Jessica's head was bleeding, but amazingly, she was still breathing.
“Idiot!” Matt's eyes shot up quickly, seeing Damien picking up Jessica. Damien leaned her against the wall, and pulled out his phone so he could call a couple of his friends to pick her up, and bring some towels.
“I—I—I don't—!” Matt stuttered, trying to come up with an answer for his action.
“Shut the hell up Matt.” Then Damien held his hand out, indicating the payment.
“Oh.” Was all Matt could say, before he was reaching into his moist pockets and pulling out a wad of cash. For a CEO, he sure wore basic clothes. With faded jeans and a red hoodie, he looked like a regular guy, and no one would suspect him for a CEO until they asked.
“Now I'm gonna ask you one question.” Damien sighed, containing his anger.
“What?” Matt's voice was shaking so hard it didn’t seem like he was speaking English.
“You knocked her out. Now it's time to pay.” With a dark smile, Damien held up his gun to Matt's head.
Matt didn't process his Dealer pulling a gun on him before he spoke, “Wait that wasn't a—!” Damien made quick work of Matt, lodging a small bullet right into his skull.
After killing Matt, Damien pulled off his hood, and brushed through his wet, freshly dyed hair, and sighed. He would have to re-dye his hair, ugh, so tedious. Damien sighed again, and sat next to Jessica waiting for his friends to pull up.
