"What's your game plan?" Miracle whispered to Jumin. They were one of the first people in the classroom, waiting for the bell to ring. Parker went to the bathroom, so Miracle found it the perfect opportunity to talk to Jumin about his crush.
"Game plan? For what?"
Miracle raised her eyebrow. "For Parker duh!" she whispered. "Don't you like him? How are you gonna persuade him? There's a high chance that he likes you too."
"Shut the hell up Miracle. I'm not in the mood for your bullshit."
Parker entered the classroom and sat back down behind Jumin. "Why are we starting school on a Friday? It doesn't make sense," he muttered and looked at Jumin and Miracle. "So what were you two talking about?"
"Nothing much," Miracle replied. "Anyways, what do you think about that one story that I let you read yesterday?" The bell rang and the class got fuller by the second.
The teacher came into the classroom and put his bag on the desk. "Good morning everyone! My name is Mr. Rowan and I'll be your homeroom teacher for this year. Some of you already know me from last year, but for the new ones, welcome! Now I know that most of you guys are pissed about the beginning of a new school year on a Friday, so I thought that it would be a great idea to go do something as a class tomorrow to get to know each other better! Any suggestions?" A guy raised his hand. "Yes, Simon right?"
"Yeah. What if we watch a movie?" he suggested. Some people groaned as the others start talking enthusiastically.
Mr. Rowan wrote it with chalk on the chalkboard. "Good idea. Someone else?" Parker raised his hand. "Yes, Parker?"
"It may sound stupid, but what if we go to the sea aquarium?" The girls agreed with him.
"This is a perfect chance for Jumin and Parker to get closer," Miracle thought.
Jumin turned to Parker. "Why do you want to go to the sea aquarium?" Jumin asked.
Parker sighed as he looked excited at Jumin. "It's because I can go to the sea aquarium with Ryuji in Royals. And that's one of the things that I need in my life."
"Oh my God, I can't wait for that," Miracle said. "You're right, we have to prepare for that." Jumin covered his eyes with his hand.
A girl raised her hand. "What if we watch a movie and go to the mall after that?" Every girl and Parker agreed.
"Why are you agreeing with them?" Jumin asked Parker.
Parker's eyes brightened. "Because if we go, we can spend money on more games."
Jumin stared at him with a raised brow and flicked Parker's forehead. "We can also go together this weekend."
"I think that that's a better idea," Parker muttered as he rubbed the aching spot.
Someone else raised his hand. "What about paintball?" Most of the guys and Miracle started cheering as the girls yelled no. "And after that, we can do something that the girls want."
"Let's just go to the sea aquarium," a girl yelled.
Mr. Rowan looked nervously around. "Okay! Quiet down so we can vote! Who wants to paintball?" Nine people, including Miracle, raised their hands. Mr. Rowan wrote the number on the board. "Now, who wants to go to the aquarium?" Eleven people, including Parker, raised their hands. Jumin didn't vote.
"What the fuck Jumin," Miracle whispered. "Why didn't you vote?"
Jumin shrugged. "Wasn't in the mood."
"So then we'll be going to the sea aquarium," he announced. He heard all the guys groan. "For the next time, we'll go paintballing, alright?" Mr. Rowan grabbed a stack of paper sheets. "And by the way, now that you're in your last year of high school, you have to start looking for colleges to go and careers for in the future," he said as he handed them out. "So for today, write some career paths that you'd like to take or suits you. If you haven't thought about it yet, you can use your laptop or phone to search online."
After the sheet landed on Jumin's desk, he kept staring at it. He glanced around and saw his other classmates filling it excitedly with their friends while he didn’t know what use it was to think about his future.
Parker saw him staring and poked his cheek. "Hey, Jumin."
"What?" He asked.
"What are you planning to do after high school?"
Jumin shrugged. "Never thought about it. Kyung wants to join the military for several reasons and Min wants to open up a cafe or a bookstore," he replied.
"Wow. Kyung in the military?" Parker scoffed. "Of course he'd like something like that." Parker looked at Miracle who was also staring at her sheet. "What about you, Miracle?"
"To be honest, I wanted to do many things. I wanted to study astronomy, marine biology, architecture, and a few other things. But now I either find the subjects boring or I'm too lazy to learn for them. I even thought about joining the military." She laughed at that last part. "But now, I don't want to do that anymore."
"What about your current job?" Jumin asked.
"I think that it's best for me to do something else like Skylar. I'm definitely not joining the showbiz though."
"What about studying English Literature? You like to write right? You can become an author," Parker suggested.
Miracle shook her head. "My parents wouldn't let me. They think that it's a stupid dream and that I need to study something normal."
"Don't listen to your parents. Do something that you want to do," Jumin said. "That was cheesy as hell." He looked at Parker and Miracle who were watching him as their eyes shone with awe. Jumin coughed awkwardly. "So how about you Parker?"
Parker looked down as his cheeks tinted pink. "It may sound stupid, but I was thinking about becoming an English teacher in Japan," he muttered.
"Why do you think that it sounds stupid?" Jumin asked.
"Because my mom said so," he mumbled. "She also doesn't want to support my dream. But my dad told me not to listen to her."
"As your dad said, don't listen to your mom, Parker. If you want to do it, fuck her and do it." Jumin furrowed his eyebrows a little. "But why Japan of all places?"
"Because I've wanted to live there since I was 5 years old. My dad said not to, but I'm definitely going."
"Okay, but let's go on a vacation there first so you can consider if you really want to live there or not," Jumin smiled. Miracle smiled creepily in the background as she watched their conversation.
"Yeah, I was planning to do that to be sure. But I'd be better if you go with me," Parker grinned as Miracle covered her mouth with her hand. "And Miracle of course," Parker added quickly.
Jumin averted his eyes. "Yeah."
