I am on this new path
I am going to find someone, someone who is going to love me and all that stuff. For some reason that was really hard for me to type out, at the end of the day, that’s not happening. I don’t see myself in a relationship with anyone any time soon. Especially at the rate, this is going. I’ve never been in a relationship I don’t know the first thing to do when it comes to being in a relationship. Like what to do, not to do, but that’s not something you just know beforehand. It depends on the person you devote your all to. Anywho I am on Tinder, so hopefully, something will happen, spark.

It’s the first official day of classes and Jazmine is nervous and not excited about it. What is the class going to be like, is it going to be hard on the first day? Is it going to get progressively harder or would it be consistently difficult? Is she going to get lost on the way there?
“What class do you have today?” Ryan asked as Jazmine was getting ready.
Ryan was still in bed, comfortable, probably going to to go back to sleep once Jazmine leaves. Jazmine doesn’t get that luxury because she had a class at 10 o’clock in the morning.
“Intro to psychology. I have the most random classes since I am undeclared. How about you, any classes?” Jazmine asked.
Ryan shook her head and Jazmine left her dorm soon after Ryan responded. She wanted to leave early so that if she gets lost, she could still make it to class on time. She opened up Google maps and goes on this adventure around campus.
Thirty minutes later, she finally got to the lecture hall. She wasn’t late, but the class was practically full, a few scattered seats throughout the room. It looked like there were about 110 people sitting. She sat in the front section, but at the back. Where the front of the class meets the middle. Close enough to see the board, but far enough to refrain from making eye contact with the professor. She also was able to find a seat that was near the end of the row. Professors are drawn to look at the middle rather than the ends, another way she was able to avoid the eye contact.
When Jazmine sat down, the girl sitting next to Jazmine said,
“Hi, I am Charlie Rose. No, not like Charlie from Two and a Half Men or Charlie from Charlie’s angels. You can call me Rose though. All the cue girls call me Rose.”
Jazmine was too frozen to laugh or even think of Charlie Sheen. Jazmine had this weird feeling she has seen this girl before. Even though they were sitting, Jazmine could tell she was tall almost like a model. She had these really big eyes that just radiated innocence. She also had this really sweet smile, but there was something behind it.
Not even considering the fact that she called Jazmine cute. She called Jazmine cute, or maybe not and was just saying that cute girls call her Rose. That Jazmine may not be cute enough, but she did tell Jazmine to call her Rose.
“Cutie, your drooling,” Rose said, laughing quietly.
There she goes again calling Jazmine cute. It took a few seconds for Jazmine to register what she said. When she did, she immediately wiped her face to find nothing there. The look of confusion caused Rose to bust out laughing.
Embarrassed, Jazmine nervously laughed and said, “Jazmine, is my name.”
When the words that left Jazmine’s mouth and reached her ears she quickly corrected herself and said, “I mean, my name is Jazmine Carter. You can call me Jazmine, everyone usually calls me Jazmine.”
“Then I’ll call you Jaz,” Ryan said ending the simple statement with a wink.
Was this girl flirting with Jazmine? Probably not, maybe she had something in her eye and had to quickly blink with one eye so that the burning pain would stop.
Class began and the professor started talking about the class and what was going to be expected from the students. While the professor was speaking, Jazmine kept stealing looks at Rose and sometimes Rosw would catch her eye. Most of the time Rose would be busy listening to the professor and taking notes. In those moments Jazmine took the time to admire her beauty and suddenly realized why she was so familiar.
The day before, Jazmine and Ryan were on Tinder and Jazmine ran out of swipes. The girl that was shown after she ran out of swipes was Rose. She thinks. If she was actually the girl from Tinder, does that mean that she swiped right on Jazmine? Did she see her on Tinder? Or did Jazmine happen to see her profile first? By the time she was done overthinking, the class was over and Rose was gone.
Jazmine didn’t have a class right after her 10 am one, so she went back to her dorm.
“How was your first class?” Ryan asked when she saw Jazmine walk through the door.
“This girl was talking to me and I completely made a fool of myself. I think she may have been someone from Tinder.” Jazmine rushed out.
“How did you make a fool of yourself?” Ryan asked she was genuinely concerned at first.
“She told her name and called me cute, so it caught me off guard and I said Jazmine was my name instead of my name is Jazmine,” Jazmine whispered in embarrassment.
“You...make everything…so exaggerated. You’re so dramatic. That’s… nothing to be… embarrassed.” Ryan could barely get the words out because she was too busy laughing.
Jazmine couldn’t help herself but laugh along with her. Jazmine told herself she was laughing because Ryan’s laugh was very contagious and not because the situation was funny.
