The nothing is not like you see it in the movies. A vast white nuclear territory that covers everything; so white that it hurts your eyes. No, the nothing is something much more smaller, dirtier, evil.

The nothing is a colorless and odorless viscous liquid. It hauls in the most repugnant places leaving its mark and degrading them even more. Slowly, the nothing devastates the world with the help of men and women who let it get under their skin through their cuts and bruises preventing them from healing. And once it is in the bloodstream it will infect the whole body; like petroleum in the sea. It will settle in our hearts and it will transform into a curse that we will carry on forever. Then it will go to our brains tearing it apart and finally to our lungs so every time we speak the nothing will emerge while we become immaterial.

But wounds and cuts aren’t the only ways the nothing can infect us. It can also attack us through our eyes and our ears. Because it’s practically impossible to detect it. One must be very cautious and pay a lot of attention to the atmosphere. In those cases it is better to protect ourselves and run before it can get us. Only the craziest people confront the nothing since it’s an arduous and taxing way and it’s easier to just let it infect us and numb our senses. Nevertheless, the price will be too high. The world will lose part of its beauty because everything will be tainted with the filter of the nothing.

And when the last loonatic person has lost their last battle, humanity will be doomed to be something more terrible than anybody could ever have predicted. A vast territory without any warmth, color or hope. Something ethereal and empty that doesn’t want to be seen and can’t be seen but as an echo of its former self. An oil in the wall, painted by an artist without passion incapable of portraying the magnificent spectacle that we were once, but will never be again.
