Additional fun information: You may be wondering how the Alpine swift sleeps if it stays in the air for so long. According to the studies done, in Alpine swifts, there seems to be no necessity for physical inactivity to maintain any physiological functions in the brain. Though, there are moments of increased and decreased activity. It should be noted that the sample size of this study contained only three subjects.
