Felipe stopped the projectile mid-air with his mind and dropped it to the floor.
Thank god for telekinesis
He looked down and saw that it was a large, rusted wrench. He peered into the darkness to see where it came from, and as his eyes adjusted to the gloom, he saw the shape of a small girl.
"Hello?"
Something clattered at Felipe's feet, this time, it was a screwdriver. This girl had a terrible aim.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. Could you stop throwing things at me?"
The girl stepped out of the shadows and into a beam of light filtering from one of the holes in the ceiling. Her red hair caught in the soft lighting like fire. It was that quiet girl from this morning!
"It's you!" they both said at the exact same time. Scarlett glared at him.
"Sorry if I scared you." Felipe said, "I just wanted to know what was in here."
"Get out," Scarlett growled.
"Why? What are you doing in here?"
"None of your business."
Felipe was determined to get to the bottom of this. He walked to the back of the shed, ignoring Scarlett's protests, and found a desk piled with papers and scraps of metal. Felipe picked up one of the papers at random and saw that it was a letter addressed to Eli. It read:
My friend,
The situation in The Capitol is deteriorating by the day. I know you hate when I ask for a favor, but this is necessary.
We desperately need reinforcements. I realize that you don't want to send one of your team members into a dangerous situation, which is why I request that you come here yourself. I know that your talents are more than sufficient.
I have to request that you come quickly.
-Ray
The moment that Felipe read the last word, Scarlett snatched the letter out of his hands. She started tearing the letter into tiny shreds.
"Too late for that. I read the whole thing already. Who's Ray?"
Scarlett's face was as pale as a ghost's.
"You can't tell anybody what you saw."
"Yeah? Why not?"
"I-I'll tell Eli that you were in here! He'll kick you and your sister out!"
"I don't think you'll tell him," Felipe said smugly "I'll bet you'll be in a lot of trouble when he finds out you let someone snoop around in here."
Scarlett didn't respond.
Got her.
Felipe patted Scarlett's shoulder as he walked out of the shed.
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone what I saw, as long as you don't tell anyone that I was in here"
"And why should I trust you?" She spat.
Felipe just grinned at her from the doorway.
