I shrugged, smiling to myself before continuing to walk out the alleyway and returning to the citizen filled streets of town. I then looked up above the shops and immediately saw the gigantic, black, tilted spike coming from the ground. It was the dungeon we were talking about.
On its sides, were many windows that displayed many of the things within it. Whether shops for various items, blacksmiths, housing, and other things, you could find it in that part of the dungeon since only the parts on the surface are safe zones in the dungeon. Every floor beneath the ground are filled with demon beasts. Though some other safe zones have been discovered, there were only a few and none have reached its deepest parts. Dungeons like this on the continent are very few, six to be exact. It's said that the six are the body parts of an ancient demon beast that was stronger than all of the demon lords that existed in its time; its two arms, two legs, torso, and head. Reading about this world's history was a good choice.
I then took a deep breath and puffed my chest out a little. Exhaling all that air and feeling refreshed, I began to walk to the dungeon just a few blocks away from where I was. I arrived at my destination and only had time as I waited for the two to arrive. Luckily, there were a lot of things to see and do here.
I spent a bit of my time looking at the products being displayed by many of the merchants and vendors setting up shop near the dungeon. Weapons, armor, potions, ingredients, and other basic necessities you'd likely need if you were going into the dungeon. There were even stalls for food, I can't seem to find a place here where food stalls are out of the vicinity. I even saw a couple of women holding up some signs. Though I wasn't able to read anything on the sign since I was far away, I…..kinda knew what that implied…
Nope nope nope!. I slapped myself. Don't even think of it! You will NOT be aroused by such vulgar thoughts of other women! Carnal desires begone!
I immediately looked away and avoided seeing those women. I promised myself that I would never feel that way towards another girl except for the one I truly desired. But…
Would I even be able to find her if I searched every corner of the continent?
How am I so sure that she'd even be here? In this world, still the same as I remember her?
I don't even know her name…
I knew, but forgot it so easily…
I should've already remembered her name by now if she was so dear to me…
Was she even that important to me…?
I continued to question my own feelings towards the girl I fell in love with. But as I continued to ask for an answer, my head began to hurt, like an intense sharp feeling akin to a splitting headache.
I stopped asking so many questions, and the headache stopped. I didn't know the cause of it, but I did know it was connected to how I was pushing myself to remember her. I had nothing more than that, and I had nothing to learn more about it. So, I pushed it to the side...to be done in the future.
I continued to stand around, waiting for the two to arrive. And after a few minutes, they arrived. The two seemed like they were in quite a hurry. Vel seemed a bit tired and was blushing as they arrived and Tia looked about the same as him while she held a staff with an orb at its end.
"Sorry we made you wait."
Vel tried to catch his breath as he stood with his hands on his knees. He wore some leather clothing with some chainmail and a fair bit of armor on. It wasn't the bulky type but the type you'd expect to be light and pretty easy to move in. On his side hung a longsword(a hand and half/bastard sword) and a dagger. His set up seemed to mirror mine a lot. He probably also prioritized speed when using the dagger and focus on power when using the longsword.
"We're really sorry!"
Tia on the other hand had a very different getup. She wore a mantle, a pair of long boots, and a tad bit of armor. She was also just wearing her dress from earlier. She even had her hair tied in a ponytail. All of that was pretty neat, but I was kinda curious about her staff. Unlike Heldic-san's staff, hers was made mostly with metal and only had one catalyst, a blue orb.
"It's fine, it's really fine." I said to the both of them. "I was even able to buy some mana recovery potions."
The two still seemed really sorry. I didn't really wait that long. Probably just thirty minutes, I didn't really count. And since I really didn't want to stay out here too long, I grabbed them both by the wrist and pulled them to the entrance of the dungeon.
"Let's just go! Don't worry about anything." I showed them a reassuring smile before letting their wrists go, signalling them to follow me.
"Wait, what do you mean about not worrying?" Vel asked.
"Just don't worry about anything in the dungeon."
"Then, are you really strong or something?"
Tia was the one that asked next.
"Well, sorta. Just remember to keep up, okay?"
And so, we delved into the first few floors and fought quite a lot of monsters. Having the two of them with me was quite the calming feeling, knowing that someone has your back even if you could handle things by yourself. I just had a feeling, but I think these two would become really strong people in the future. Having company really is great.
