I opened my eyes to get a blinding light shined at me. Where am I? I look around and see only white walls and a single door. I try to stand up but I had been chained to the ground the best I was able to manage was sitting up. Apparently someone didn’t do their research… I tried to reach into my pocket but the chain was too short for me to reach far enough into my pocket. damn, just barely out of reach... I look around again and noticed a release button on the wall. I might be able to hit that if I use arcane bolt… I focused and fired an arcane bolt at the button and it flew true hitting the button and pushing it in just enough to make the shackles release. Now free from my chains I reached into my pocket and pulled out a broken wand. Great, now I have no wand! I stuffed it back into my pocket hoping it will be of some use later. I take a deep breath and open the door to another white room but with boxes. Am in some sort of lab? I pondered this while searching the room for items that might be useful to me. After an hour of searching I came across an empty bottle. Might be useful later. I put it in a pocket on my leather coat and continued searching when I hear the creak of a vent opening. I turned around to see a goo like substance that wasn’t there before in the middle of the room. Odd, I’m pretty sure that wasn’t- My thought was cut off when it leaped at me, panicking I grabbed the bottle from my pocket and scooped it out of the air and quickly put a lid on it to keep whatever it was from getting out. I hope that is the only one... I turn around to see more of the same gooey material ooze through the door I had come from. My heart raced as I frantically searched for a door out. Come on, there has to be a way out… Salvation, I found a door on the opposite side of the room and made a mad dash for it. I grabbed the handle and twisted but to my misfortune it was locked. I looked around and saw a lockpick on a table. Oddly convenient… I didn’t bother questioning why it was even there and ran to the table, grabbing the pick. I rushed back to the door and managed to get it unlocked and opened just in time to get out as the goo nearly reached me and slam it closed behind me sealing the substance in as the door was air tight. Taking a moment to calm down I look around the room I now found myself in and spotted a keypad on the wall. For every lock a key must be nearby, for every keypad, a combination. I searched for any clues for the combination of the keypad not knowing what it might do if I was to put in the correct combination. My search only turned up a key. This better not go to the door I just came from... I pocketed the key and redirected my attention into analyzing more about the room. All it had was two doors that were sealed tight and lacked a keyhole, and a third one next to them which did have a lock on it. Anywhere that isn’t the direction I came from is good enough for me. I unlocked the door and went through and it slammed shut behind me, locking. I freaked out for a moment but after standing there focusing on my breathing to calm my nerves, I look around and spot another goo like substance in the corner of the room, only that it was notably differently colored from the grey goo I narrowly escaped from. I’m not trusting that stuff after I had been through… I prepared my arcane bolt spell and suddenly the lights went out. The only thing that lit up the room was the arcane bolt I held in my hand. Of all the times, the lights had to go out now! When the lights came back on the goo was nowhere to be seen. Without lowering my guard I carefully went to the other side of the room and found a note where the goo had been residing. Jackpot. I grab the note then turned around to see more of the black colored goo scattered about the room. Great I’m boxed in. then the lights go out for a minute startling me then turn back on, the goo remaining unchanged. If I can memorize where it is at, I might be able to navigate my way out while it can’t see me. The lights go out again and I managed to get a fifth of the way through before the lights turn back on. This might take a while… The lights go out and I managed to get to the center of the room before they turned back on revealing that a humanoid creature made of the black goo stood staring at me with soulless eyes. I could feel my heart rate quicken as we stared at each other before the lights went out yet again and I quickly navigated through the rest of the room before the lights came back on and I turned around to see the black creature still staring where I was standing. Is it a statue? I turned around and used the key I still had with me to unlock the door and leave the room. Now that I am in the clear might as well check the note. I look at the note and punched in the code I had found on it and the door to the right of the keypad slid open. I look around to see if I could find something I could use to jam the door open so I could have a way out in case things went south but found nothing. If push comes to shove I can protect myself with arcane bolt. I take a deep breath and walk in, the door quietly closed behind me and left me in a room that had a box in it as well as a vent. Like the last two rooms, I searched for anything that could be useful and there was only a broken bottle inside the box as well as a corner was nibbled out.
