"GAH! Get away from me! OW!" Marcus dabbed alcohol onto Kio's wounds. It was difficult to get Kio to Marcus's spare room from the shed since not only was it adrenaline that was keeping Kio running away, but it was fear that kept him running as well. (But since the adrenaline faded, the pain started to take over the rest of his body.) "And⎯done." Kio huffed and laid down. "If you need anything, just call me. I'll be downstairs." Before Marcus could leave, Kio grabbed his sleeve. Marcus looked back at Kio. "Yes?"
"U-Uhm...Could you...Stay...Just for a little..."
Kio winced.
"Hey, are you okay? Do you need some aspirin, or⎯" Kio's sweet, sickly scent worsened. "Help me, please! I-I can't⎯" Suddenly, sirens were heard outdoors. Kio's face was struck with fear. "Oh, no⎯" Marcus released his scent to calm Kio down. "Don't worry. I know how to handle this." Marcus grabbed Kio's hand and led him downstairs. There was a firm knock on the door. Marcus calmly opened the door. "Kio Barden, you are under arrest for murder." Kio started to breathe faster as two deputies approached him. "Wait." Marcus put a hand protectively in front of Kio. "I will pay for whatever damages that were caused." The lead deputy stopped the other two. "You heard him. We have to comply and leave." They turned to leave. "Wait. Is that your Omega?" Marcus nodded.
"If that really is your Omega, show us his marking." Kio's heart skipped a beat. Even though Kio had been debased MULTIPLE times, he'd never gotten marked.
"His original marking just healed. Even though my teeth are sharp, his skin heals quick. It's a hereditary thing. I was just about to mark him."
The deputy huffed and walked away.
"Have a good one." The deputy said as he left towards the car.
As they left, Marcus drooped. He groaned loudly. "Listen, I barely know you. Now, I have to MARK you." Kio's face went redder than it already was. "Come on. Let's get this over with." Marcus said with a sigh.
