Jumin pressed the doorbell. He was standing in front of Parker's house so they could go to the sea aquarium together. The door opened and Jumin looked up at the older man standing in front of him.
"Good morning, sir. I'm Jumin, Parker's friend. I'm here to pick him up," Jumin said and stuck his hand out.
The man smiled and shook his hand. "I'm Benjamin, Parker's dad. Parker's still asleep in his room."
"Oh, did I come too early?" Jumin asked.
Benjamin shook his head. "No. Parker's the one who is late. You can wake him up if you like. His room is the third door on the left upstairs," he said as he let Jumin inside.
Jumin nodded and took his shoes off. "Okay. Thank you for having me, Mr. van den Meer," he smiled politely, struggling to pronounce his last name.
"No problem, " Benjamin smiled. "And please, call me Ben."
"Sure Ben." Jumin walked up the stairs and went to Parker's room. When he stood there in front of the door, his heart began beating faster. He knocked on the door. "Parker?" Jumin only got light snoring as a response. He opened it and saw Parker lying on his bed.
Parker was sleeping on his back without any pajamas on. He was hugging his pillow tightly as gibberish came out of his mouth.
Jumin went to Parker and bent down a little. "Parker," Jumin whispered as he shook him lightly.
A small frown appeared on Parker's face. "Five more minutes, dad," he mumbled.
Jumin looked around and saw a spray bottle on his desk. He grabbed it and sprayed his face to wake him up.
"No, no! Don't take me tentacles! No!" Parker's eyes shot open and he looked around his room warily. His eyes stopped at Jumin, who was covering his mouth to stop snickering. "Jumin?"
"Good morning. You're late," Jumin informed as he put the spray bottle back on his desk.
Parker looked down to see if he was wearing something embarrassing. When he saw that he wasn't wearing anything except his boxers, his face went instantly red. "Oh." He grabbed his blanket that he deserted on the floor and wrapped himself with it. He stood in front of Jumin with the blanket covering his whole body. "Can you get out of my room for a second?"
Jumin turned his head with a raised eyebrow. "Why should I? We're both guys."
"But it’s embarrassing," Parker mumbled.
"What? I didn't catch that."
Parker sighed. "Never mind." He dropped his blanket and lazily went to his closet while Jumin eyed him.
"Just fuck already," Kyung groaned in Jumin's mind. "It works in those stupid books that Miracle reads."
"No!" Jumin yelled back as Min shook his head rapidly. "The things that Miracle reads are bullshit." Min nodded in agreement.
"But listen. What if he does like us?" Kyung argued. "Then we're the fucking clowns." It went quiet in Jumin's head.
"You have a point there," Jumin said after a while.
"I think that it'd be a good idea to drop hints," Min spoke up. "It doesn't necessarily have to be huge hints. No offense to Parker, but I don't think that he would get the huge hints."
"Why? Parker isn't that dense, right?" Kyung asked them. They didn't respond. "Right?" This time, it came out more like a question.
"Jumin? Hey Jumin!"
Jumin's attention snapped to the person who was calling him. Jumin pulled his face back when he saw how small the distance between his and Parker's face was.
"Way to go dumbass!" Kyung yelled. "Let me take control."
"Fine," Jumin sighed. Parker turned to his closet and searched for something to wear.
"Yeah, what do you want?" Kyung asked as he rummaged through his pockets. When he didn't feel his bandana, his eyebrows knitted together and he started patting everywhere around his body.
"What are you searching for?" Parker asked without taking his eyes off his closet.
"My bandana," Kyung whispered as he went to Parker to stand next to him. "I think that Jumin left it at home."
"We can stop at your house before you go if you want to," Parker offered.
Kyung shook his head. "Nah, we don't have time for that shit. The metro is gonna leave in 13 minutes and you're still not done."
"What? How late is it then?" Parker asked.
"It's time to fucking go, Park."
Parker turned to him and passed his hand through his hair. "I know, Kyung. I just need to find a good shirt."
Kyung grabbed the first shirt that he found reasonable and handed it to him. "Wear this."
"But I don't want to wear this," Parker grumbled.
"Parker, we don't have time. If you don't wear it, we're not going to the game store tomorrow."
Parker gasped and glanced at the shirt. He put it on, buttoned it up, and stared at it in the mirror. "I look like a nerd now," he mumbled to himself as he frowned at the green checkered shirt.
"You look good," Kyung said to him. "Now that we're done with that, can we go? We’re gonna be late."
Parker nodded. "Okay."
"Don't forget your wallet this time!"
Parker stopped in his tracks and patted his pocket to make sure that he had his wallet. "I didn't!" he shouted and followed Kyung who went downstairs. Before they went outside, Parker stopped at the living room.
Benjamin's attention was on the soccer match that had a rerun on the television. He heard instantly when Parker set a foot in the living room and turned to him with a smirk. "Finally awake? That took too long," Benjamin laughed.
Parker glared at him. "Why didn't you wake me up? It's embarrassing to let Jumin see me like that," he hissed. "You know how strange my dreams get."
"Hush, child. Go to the aquarium already! Otherwise, you'll miss the metro," Benjamin said. "And by the way, if you plan to stay over at Jumin tonight, call me on time. Or if he wants to stay over."
"Okay," Parker replied. "Bye, dad!"
"Bye Parker! And goodbye Jumin! Keep an eye on him for me, alright?"
Kyung nodded slowly. "Yeah, sure. Bye." They went outside and took the shortest route to the metro. "What were you two talking about?"
"Nothing interesting." Parker's phone went off.
"Who's calling?" Kyung asked.
Parker looked at his phone. "It isn't a saved contact." He picked it up. "Hello? Parker speaking."
"Hey, Parker. It's Mr. Rowan. Is there a chance that Jumin is next to you?" He asked.
"Yeah, he is," Parker replied. "Wait, I'll put the phone on speaker." Parker on speaker while Kyung looked confused at him. "It's on speaker now."
"Good morning, Jumin."
"Mornin’, Mr. Rowan. What's up?" Kyung asked.
"Well, the sea aquarium that we were supposed to visit has a leak in one of the tanks. So they're not letting anyone in today," Mr. Rowan explained. Parker stopped walking when he heard that. Kyung turned around and saw Parker’s disappointed face. "And there aren't other ones in this city, so going to another city isn't gonna be cheap."
"Oh," Parker whispered as the light in his eyes became dull. “I understand.”
"I'm sorry guys, but we have to postpone it. We'll make new plans on Monday," Mr. Rowan said. "Have a great day."
"Okay. Bye." Parker hung up and his gaze was fixated on the ground.
Kyung stood there silently. "So what am I supposed to do now? Parker is sad and I can't think of anything to cheer him up."
"Go to the game store with him!" Jumin ordered. "He wanted to go right? That'll cheer him up!"
"And get some ice cream after that," Min said.
"You guys are acting like he's a kid!" Kyung yelled.
"I mean, it isn't that hard to satisfy him," Jumin said as Min nodded. "Just try it."
"Parker." Parker's eyes darted to Kyung. "You still want to go out today?" Parker nodded. "Let's go to the city then. We can go buy that game that you want too," Kyung suggested.
Parker's eyes lit back up. "That sounds like a great plan!" He grabbed Kyung's hand and they started running to the metro station. "Let's go before we miss the metro again!"
