I can't believe we found him. We found the single most hardest person to find in 2 months. It may seem unbelievable, but he is important and basically invisible. Of course, we don't have him with us, but we know exactly where he is, and who he should be with. I hope that they don't put up a fight for him. I'm with Alia, and I know that she will already make things 10 times easier. I really hope that he's still there. Why is it taking so long? I feel the carriage- yes, carriage- come to a stop, and feel the butterfly's in my stomach multiply as I look out my window. Fire. Everywhere. And ogres, thief's, giant clubs, and to top it all off, he's in the middle of all of it. I want to scream, and run in there blind. He was alone. He was supposed to be with people. Alia taps on my shoulder, and I eventually pry my eyes away from the horrible scene to look at her. She's holding my choice of weapon, a crossbow, out to me. I have a dagger at my belt in case things get up close, and my magic just in case Something goes wrong. Alia has a sword at her dispense, but usually just uses her magic. It's just us two this time, but we usually have a team of six. I suppose that will turn into seven when we save him.
Alia puts up a barrier, blocking the fire from our touch. I see one of the ogres holding him by the feet. If my heart wasn't pounding so hard, I would 100% laugh at the sight. Putting my humor aside, I feel the anger burn in my gut. They should be here. Protecting him. They must not know his power. His value. I call out to one of the ogres, making Alia glare at me for my tone. I can't help it, I'm naturally cocky. The ogre signals to the others that me and her. They all quickly turn to us, the one holding the boy dropping him. That has to hurt. The ogres charge at us full force, and me just wanting to mess with them, put up a barrier. They all fall for it, and bounce back, hitting the ground with a thump. I hear Alia chuckle, and smirk. I was enjoying this. I feel a sharp pain, and remember our mission, pulling the barrier back into the earth , where all our magic comes from. I see Alia raise a brow at me from the corner of my eye, and grimace. She was never going to let this one go. I load an arrow into my favorite invention ever, and aim for the eyes. Not because it's their weakness or anything, but if you were shot in the eyes, would you be able to find a fly? 'Cause that what it's like for them. Fun fact, ogres magic is breathing fire, and invincibility for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, they can't breathe fire, and they're as slow as you in the morning. Unless you're not slow, then they're as slow as an owl in the morning. Because owls are nocturnal, so they would be really slow. On a more important note, Alia has already taken out the biggest ogres while I find the boy. The fires around us have started to fade, and weaken, because we aren't near too many trees, and there's no wind for the fire to catch on. I get to him, and find him unconscious. I touch his ribs, wanting to know if they're broken, and receive a wince. Felling around for a while, I confirm that a few are broken. I make sure that Alia has distracted the ogres, and pick him up. Using a stealth spell, I carry him back to the carriage. I want to help, but she's got it covered. I get him to the carriage, and get tired of this mission. I open the box in the back, and grab some of our magic grenades. Not the fire ones, of course, but some pretty damaging ones. I notice them moving much slower, and thank Alia for the great opening. I get in-between them, and pull the pin, letting it tick for a few seconds, leaving less time to get away from it. I finally throw it, right in the middle, and watch the earth form a wall between us and them. I love how Alia gets this. Our fighting skills cant be matched. Well, of course he could beat us with a single word. Me, anyway. Alia would probably hold her own against anyone. not for long, but for a while. The ogres are all on the ground, most of them blinded temporarily, some permanently. We both make our way back to the carriage, Alia getting ready to heal him. I'm prepared to suck it up. I don't want to see this happen, but I have to be there. without me, he would probably wake up and murder Alia. He was in so much pain, and I felt terrible.
