They stepped in the metro and looked around for empty seats. There were many people in the metro and they decided to stand until they reach their stop. Kyung was standing against the glass while Parker held on the pole that was behind Kyung.
Kyung glanced up at Parker who was still searching for empty seats. "This is so awkward," Kyung thought. "What are you planning to buy later?" Kyung asked Parker.
Parker's attention snapped to Kyung. A grin spread across his face as his eyes sparkled. "I'm gonna buy the new Persona game that came out in Japan."
"Oh, nice." Kyung furrowed his eyebrows. "But wouldn't it be in Japanese?"
Parker nodded. "It is. But that isn't gonna stop me."
Kyung covered his mouth to stop chuckling. "But you do know that there's a high chance that it doesn't have English subtitles, right?"
"Yeah, I know. Who do you think I am?" Parker smirked. "I've been learning Japanese for like four or five years already."
"I expected that from you," Kyung sighed as a smile spread on his face. More people went into the metro and Parker had to close the distance between them. His huge body was almost covering Kyung completely. Kyung was trying to keep his face cool as his heart began beating faster. He turned to the window.
Parker's eyes went to Kyung's face and he scanned his features out of curiosity. His eyes stopped at Kyung's lips. "I've never noticed how red his lips are." Parker's expression flattened. "Why the hell am I staring at his lips?" He wondered.
Kyung tilted his head and saw Parker's flat expression. "What are you thinking about?"
Parker grinned as he pressed his index finger against his mouth. "It's a secret." Kyung grabbed Parker's face and stared at it intensely. "Warm," Parker mumbled as he nuzzled against Kyung's hand.
Kyung's face softened as his whole body became hot. "Why is he so cute? He's like a puppy!"
Parker looked directly at Kyung. "Hey Kyung."
"What?"
"We have to get off here," Parker told him as the metro slowly stopped.
"O-oh yeah," Kyung muttered and he dropped his hand. Parker pressed the button and the door opened. They checked out and walked up the stairs. Kyung followed Parker to the game store as Parker's attention was on the stores.
"Kyung?" Kyung's turned to Parker. "Do you want to stay over at my house tonight?"
Kyung stared ahead. "I have to ask June first," he replied.
"Okay. Well pass by your house before we go to mine," Parker insisted.
"Fine."
Parker stopped in front of a store and his eyes shone with excitement. "We're here."
They walked in and Parker waved at the employee who was filling accessories the second he saw him.
"Do you know everyone here?" Kyung whispered as after Parker waved at another employee.
"Not everyone, but a lot of people that work here for a while now," he replied.
"How many times do you go here then? 3 times a week?" Kyung joked.
Parker nodded. "Sometimes I go after school when I don't want to go home. Or I waste an afternoon on the weekend here. It's pretty fun," he replied.
"Oh. But why don't you want to go home?" Kyung asked and instantly regretted his question when he saw Parker's pained expression. "Shit. Forget about that question. Let's pick up your game at the cash register," Kyung said quickly as they made their way to the back of the store.
"Way to go, jackass," Jumin muttered.
"You're such an ass," Min mumbled.
"I didn't ask for your opinion," Kyung hissed.
"Oh, she must be new," Parker thought as he looked at the girl standing behind the counter.
"Good afternoon. How may I help you?" The girl asked with a smile on her face.
"I'm here to pick up a game. It's called Persona 5 Royals," Parker smiled.
"Ah. Give me a minute." She turned to the computer next to her and browsed for the game in the system. "I'm sorry sir, but we only have the old version. But we do have an order so we can get the new version at the beginning of April."
Parker blinked. "Wait. There must be a mistake. I arranged with the manager that he would order it for me if I paid prior," Parker explained to her. "I even got an email from him. And in it, it said that he has the game already waiting for me here."
"But on the computer..."
"Screw the computer! Let me talk to the manager," Parker demanded.
Kyung and the girl were staring at him. Kyung nudged him. "Park, you're acting like a Karen right now," Kyung whispered to him as he snickered.
Parker's eyes widened as he turned back to the girl. "I'm sorry for acting like a middle-aged woman," he apologized. "I don't know what came over me. Please forgive me."
"O-oh it's fine," she stuttered.
"I'm glad," Parker beamed. Both Kyung and the girl stared at Parker's face.
"I-I'll call the manager for you," the girl whispered as a blush crept up her face.
"Thank you!" After a few minutes, the manager walked out of the back room with the game in his hand.
"Parker! How are ya?"
"Hey! I'm good," Parker grinned and they continued talking.
As they were talking, the girl used her finger to touch Kyung's shoulder.
"Hm?" Kyung turned to her. "What's up?"
"Your friend is cute," the girl whispered as she eyed him.
"I know right?" Kyung sighed. The second those words came out of Kyung's mouth, he began sweating. He glanced at Parker, but he was too busy talking. And then he turned back to the girl who was already disappointed.
"And there I thought that I stood a chance," she muttered.
"We're not together," Kyung said. "But I wish we were," he mumbled.
The girl's eyes darkened out as she grabbed Kyung's hands. "Good luck! I believe in you, and like my dad said to me: 'Even if your opponent is strong, one day, you'll beat it'."
Kyung nodded awkwardly. "Oookay. Thank you."
Parker glanced at Kyung and saw him talking to the girl seriously as they were holding hands together. "I wonder what they're talking about," he thought. "Hey Kyung," Parker called him. "Let's go! We still have to pass your house!"
"Sure." He turned to the girl who gave him a thumbs up. "Bye."
"Goodbye! Come again!" She smiled. Parker and Kyung walked out of the store and walked to the metro station in comfortable silence.
"There's a reason why I don't want to be home sometimes," Parker spoke up. "It's either when my mom comes to visit or when my dad and I have a heated argument."
"Now that I think about it, I don't hear Parker talk about his mom a lot." Kyung raised his eyebrow. "Is your mom also a deadbeat?" Kyung asked.
"I mean, she left me and my dad when I was still a baby," Parker replied. "I wonder what he means with 'also'. Maybe he means Skylar's mom." Parker shook his head. "That's enough of that. We still have a lot of things to do," he grinned.
