"Who the hell are you?" said Debiddo still in shock after the whole ordeal. "I really hate repeating myself so make sure you listen up. The name is Oshiro. I am a chaser, one of many who are here to neutralize the threat in this area." "Chaser? I don't...Mom!" Debiddo says after realizing the situation. He ran towards his mother and picked her up ever so carefully and with much sorrow in his heart. "Wake up mom stop playing." Blood started leaking from her body. The blood flowed on the ground like water and caked Debiddo's hands like paint. "Aren't you going to scold me for leaving school early?" More tears roll from his face as he keeps speaking. "Aren't you going to fix hamburger and rice for me like you always do when we fight? Mom.... mom PLEASE!", but his questions were left unanswered. As he strokes her face, Debiddo noticed that it was like touching ice. Her soul was gone. Devoured by the same demon that took the life of his best friend and everyone in his school. "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Debiddo screamed as if his soul was crying out in frustration because of his weakness.
"I'll give you some time to mourn and bury your mother, but after that, we really need to get going," says Oshiro wiping the demon blood from his hand. "Go? Go where? I ain't goin' anywhere old man." Debiddo says in an irritated tone. "My mom is dead... My best friend is dead...hell, all my classmates and teachers are dead too. All I want to do is stay here with my mom and..." "And what die?" Oshiro says interruptedly "Look, I know all this is hard to fathom and is difficult for you to stomach right now, but you telling me right now that you seriously don't want to avenge everyone that died today?" "What do you mean?" Says Debiddo as he lays his mother down with care. "Didn't you kill this monster already?" "This monster, as you called it, is called a demon, and there are many more demons like it." "A demon?" Debiddo asked. "Like the demons in the anime or in video games?" "um...sort of." Says Oshiro with a confused look on his face. "Demons were humans who had lost their way during their lifetime, and when they passed, the evil within their hearts broke free and manifested as this thing." Oshiro points to the demon and says a chant. "Be sealed away demon and let your corrupted soul be purified. Kurenjingu!" With that, the demon starts to glow a white hue before it ultimately dissipates. "Woah!" says Debiddo, amazed at what he just saw.
"What did you do?" "I purified his soul and sent him to Rakuen." Says Oshiro brushing himself off. "Rakue...What, in the actual hell, are you talking about." Says Debiddo, still bewildered. "In terms, you can understand it is Heaven," Oshiro responds. "Why is this happening?" Debiddo cries. "Why was that demon targeting my school?" Debiddo starts tearing up with his head down. "Is it because of me...is it because of how I treated everyone and now? Am I getting divine justice? You got to tell me!" Debiddo looks up and sees Oshiro on the phone. "I called some people I know from this realm to pick up your mom's body and give her a proper burial." Oshiro says hanging up the phone and walking towards Debiddo's mom."They will give her a proper burial and will send you the location of the gravesite when we come back. "How long are we supposed to be gone?" asked Debiddo. "Around 2 years." Said Oshiro. "Give or take a couple of months." "We need to train you in becoming a chaser before you can battle any demon." "what is a chaser?" Said Debiddo "Where did y'all come from. Can you tell me any more information?" "God, you ask a lot of questions," said Oshiro digging in his ear. Well, chasers are a divine race of humans who can freely move from the spirit realm to the mortal realm at will. We were chosen by Lord Ichiroun himself a thousand years ago to destroy and purify demons on earth. We have been here for thousands of years protecting humans on earth from demons."
"So basically, you guys are like angels." Asked Debiddo "Shoot I wish" Oshiro responds sitting in one of the kitchen chairs. "Angels are Lord Ichiroun's right-hand soldiers. They make sure to take care of any threat deemed dangerous for chasers to take care of. They are crazy strong, and only top chasers have a chance of being promoted to an angel." "Wow, interesting, said Debiddo "Wait... 2 YEARS!?" "Yes, 2 years." Said Oshiro annoyed. "This isn't one of your T.V shows where a person can get strong in a day. It'll take some years to get stronger. Especially if you want to avenge everyone who has fallen today." "Fine...you're right." Said Debiddo. "But before we go, I need to see my mother get buried. We don't have any family members that will come out to see her. So, I am the one who needs to be there to see her buried." "Very well." Says Oshiro and he calls the chaser officer back and all of them traveled to the gravesite. The whole scene at the gravesite was gray and full of morbid sorrow. The sky, as if turned gray from the scene as well, started to rain to show its sorrow towards how Debiddo's mother died and thunder to show its rage. Debiddo couldn't help but cry more knowing that his mother was gone. His tears blended with that of the rain but, his cries to his mother were muted by way of the thunder. After a few hours had passed, Oshiro went up to Debiddo and asked. "Are you ready Debiddo?" "Yeah" Said Debiddo wiping the tears from his eyes. That sadness turned into determination and anxiousness as he is now ready for his journey.
I am going to train you mentally, physically, and spiritually. Only then will be able to use the abilities of a chaser. The first thing we have to work on before anything is your mental state." Oshiro says as both of them continue walking. Oshiro and Debiddo eventually make it to the edge of the town which makes Oshiro stop and pull some objects out of his bag. "Why did we stop?" Asked Debiddo. "This is our spot" Responded Oshiro. "Before you can reach Limbo, you are going to have to train your mental state to be able to fight without any hesitation. So with me saying this, if we want to progress any further, you will have to die first." "Wait...what? Debiddo says in confusion.
