What are you doing this sunny day?
Me, I’m watching the daylight dazzling,
The vibrant greens of the stock-still treetops,
Soaking in the flitting sparrows,
And the warmth
That was your presence.

What are you doing this windy day?
Me, I’m watching the petals dancing,
Snatched from some artist’s waiting palette,
Painting the wind’s sighing melodies,
In a song
That was your voice.

What are you doing this cloudy day?
Me, I’m watching the shadows casting,
Gray apparitions on the gloomy landscape,
While light and dark are playing tag,
On the earth
Where you once trod.

What are you doing this rainy day?
Me, I’m watching the raindrops trickling,
Down the waterspout of my memory,
Where it mingles with the unvented tears,
Of the past
Where I remain.
What are you doing this stormy day?

Me, I’m watching the thunder rolling,
Perennially hitched upon lightning’s wake,
Though never slowing, never catching up,
As with me
Is this, too, my fate?

What are you doing, my dear, today?
Me, I’m watching the seasons changing,
And hoping against all hope that somewhere amidst
The sun, wind, cloud, rain and storm…
You may chance
To think of me
Just as I
