Mac leaned against the all horribly frustrated with wild display this little contest created. This was not his thing. He wanted to be at his desk working or at home playing his latest game. Even studying was preferable.
(I should have stayed home. A little contest is fine for morale, but the noise can rival my last trip to comic Con.)He sighs. "If only the project was not due today."
"What can you do when the company head makes last minute changes for schedule."can the sudden presence of Jay's voice. His breath teasing into his ear. Warming simple inside. I turn to quip something back only to be frozen still by a soft kiss to the tip of his nose.
"What do you want?" Mac's tone laced with annoyance but his expression had already soften.
He held out a candy bar trailing the tip down the middle of his stomach. "Driftwood's mood is sour so I brought you something sweet." He steals a quick kiss to the cheek. "And spicy."
"You are so corny!" He burst into laughter. Jay joined in his humor.
"You like it when I am corny. I like this side of me, it comes out only when you are around." He searches his Driftwood's eyes. "Are you feeling better?"
Mac knew his mood had been sour since he heard the contest was moved up a day. He had meant to skip the day entirely but here he was. He knows the men would dress up for the event. Even now from where they stood, he could see three of them flexing for the votes in their best work attire.
His mood was not Jay's fault or anyone's else's fault. It was all his own. Since breaking from his family attention on him we're always unwelcomed. He just wanted to be himself but invisible. Until he met The River. He liked being seen by him, noticed by him. It made him feel welcome and happy. His heart finally felt good and peaceful.
Mac started out the day wearing whatever he wanted. While Jay decided to join in the fun pulling off a charismatic charming but bad look. Black suit, blue sapphire blue dress shirt with black tie with sublet club that match the silver ring in one of his ears. The ladies and some men went wild. Truth be told he couldn't blame them. Looking at him now made his heart beat at a new record pace.
He shook his head. "I was never mad at you." He sighed again. "I just don't want to ruin your fun. This is not my thing. You should go have a good time. Not standing by my side bored like this." He laughs, hoping it was convincing as he diverts his eyes in another direction. It was not.
"You are not ruining anything. I'm just going with the flow. I'm your river captain after all."
Mac eyes falls to his lips. "You really are. " (Since I was pulled into his current I have enjoyed many new experiences. His wacky sister, a new place, new desserts, double dating, fishing…) His skin grew warm thinking about the cabin.
"Driftwood" Jay called I'd voice husky with his own desire.
"Hm?" Mac woke felt he woke from a spell to be ensnared by another.
He moved closer, their nose barely touching but still sending sizzling energy crackling through him. "If you keep staring at me like that. I will drag you to that file room and not care if we are heard or ever leave."
