POV: Adriel Llyr, Age: 16
The day before school, Sunday, Adriel woke up to his little sister jumping on his bed and screaming about church. He debated between getting mad or going along with it. He decided to go along with it. He grabbed his four-year-old sisters ankle and pulled her off balance. She flopped down on the bed with a squeal. Then she scrambled out of bed and took off down the hall, giggling.
Adriel couldn't figure out why his parents still made him go to church when he hated it and didn't learn anything. One of the bad things about the huge church he went to is that they got a never-ending flow of new people, which means he got a never-ending flow of people staring at his eyes, one blue and one green.
Adriel had messy blonde hair that he was too lazy to brush, and he was 5'10 with a slender body. He had some muscle, but he didn't like getting out of bed, much less working out. He got the muscle from playing soccer, the only activity he willingly took part of. He made Cs in school, just enough so he could still play soccer. His favorite thing to do was sleep.
He slouched in his church seat and slept sitting up the entire time. His mom shook him awake twice but then gave up. Adriel could sleep anywhere, anytime, anyplace. After church, he wandered slowly to the car as his parents chatted with other people in the church. Finally, his parents and little sister, Avery, came out and they drove home.
He immediately went to take a hot shower. He took many showers and drank a lot of water. It's like he was addicted to water. Better than other things. Adriel thought about how his dad got drunk from time to time and acted like a fool. He was never dangerous and very rarely got drunk, but he still acted like a fool.
After his shower, he lazed around the house all day, dreading school. Especially since his best friend made him promise that he would try out for the swim team. The only reason he (reluctantly) agreed is because he loved water and decided to take a shot at swimming for a team. But it's too much work, he whined in his head.
He watched YouTobe on his phone until 10 PM, then went to sleep. He woke up thrashing that night, wanting to do something he couldn't figure out, and heard a glass cup shatter. He rolled over and saw that his water glass fell. But then he spotted it. The glass fell... But the water was still there on his nightstand in the shape of a glass cup! He stared at it in disbelief, then everything went black.
