*Leo walks towards his house without showing a single sign of interest or concern about his new neighbours*
So, this is my house a two-story bungalow flushed with everything necessary for the comfortable living of three living beings. It's not anything fancy or special, it's just your plain old, classic ____ style house.
(Fill in the blanks with whatever kind of fetish you have... )
Now as soon as I enter the house two selfish and cute beings come running towards me meowing and signalling for food. Yeah, you guessed it right, I own two cats.
They both are named as Haru and Suki. Haru is 'Bombay Cat' and Suki is 'Khao Manee', if you know anything about these two breeds then hats off to you gentleman/woman.
If not then don't worry just remember them by their coat colour as Haru is a pure black cat and Suki is a pure white cat with different coloured eyes, one is blue and other is golden.
'He surely isn't a cat person right?' You might say with a disgusted face and if I were you I would have thought the same and done the same face, I was never a cat person, I mean we all know cats as selfish, rude, piss spraying and aggressive bastards.
And these two were nothing different. They would bite and claw me whenever I came close to play with them. I hated these two back then but I also hated me back then too...
To be honest to you I always wanted a dog but mom got me these cats.
But, as the dark period started I began warming up to these two guys. I mean they were there for me when no one was there for me.
I still remember that day when I came back from school and burst into tears like a complete hysteric person. These two noticed it and jumped on my lap and started licking my hands and then face. This sweet gesture from these beings made the happiest I had ever been in my life.
It was because these two were the most unexpected beings to even notice me. This changed my whole perspective towards cats and after that incident, I took my time learning cat psychology which in turn taught me about how wrongly I handled these two sweet things.
From that day till now, we three are living just like a happy family and now I could pet them and even play with them. They never bite or claw me.
Let me teach you a thing or two about cats. Whenever you first meet a cat, you always want to pet it or show affection. What do you do to show your love? You advance towards it, try to grab it, or even pick it up as soon as you are able. Instinctively, the cat is going to run away.
And when the cat starts to run, you also start to run behind the cat and the game of tag begins where you are always the chaser. And if you do manage to catch the cat, the cat will do everything in its power to run away from you and that includes biting, clawing and wriggling. And when you do get hurt, you blame the animal. You don't even realise how wrong you were.
According to cat psychology, correct me if I am wrong, never jump towards them. In fact, don’t do anything at all. By that I mean you must completely ignore the cat. Let the cat come to you rather than you doing it for the cat. You see cat's try to attract those people who are not attracted to them, so they instinctively go to them.
Now that you have the cat looking for you, don’t pet them like a five-year-old. Remember, cats are not like dogs. You can’t go all Rambo petting them and have them thank you for it. They are sensitive creatures, they require gentle strokes on the back and light scratching behind the ears as well as under the neck.
If you want, I could teach you more about it (Do tell me if you want more). Okay, enough about the cats now. The other thing you notice about my house is that the only three members in this house are me, Haru and Suki and yes I don't live with my parents.
My dad works abroad and sends money from time to time and my mom has a job where she has to travel a lot but she does come home from time to time, usually once every three months. She does leave me messages every day. You must be thinking, what kind of family is this? Well, all I can tell you is that it wasn't always like this.
I mean I could tell you how all this happened but right now I have many things to do. You know living alone is not an easy task. You have to clean the house from time to time. You have to cook your own food. You have to buy the things needed in the house. You also have to keep tabs on the pets if you own any.
But living alone also has its own advantages as it makes you more self-capable and also makes you develop a new kind of respect for your parents. It's not very easy at first, this silence haunts you. You want to escape from all this. You want to go back to how it was. You want their smiles, their nagging, their jokes, their protection and their care but as time passes you slowly start to embrace this feeling and then you start to like it more and more...
One other thing is that you do get some personal time too... you know what I mean 😉😉
*Smartphone message notification sound*
Oh, I am very sorry it kind of went a bit dark there. I should check the message, it's probably my mom. I mean who else would message me,
"Hey, Leo I heard that new people were shifting to our neighbourhood. So I want you to give them a welcoming gift. And I know you are not the biggest fan of meeting new people and all that but I want you to give them a welcoming gift and my mobile number Okay? And don't forget to call me after your done I'll be waiting for your call.
Bye, hon.
P.S. - I have transferred you the money for buying a present. "
How the hell did she know about it? I should check around the house if she has any cameras installed. I mean it's just impossible.
Well, I'll ask her about it on the phone later. I should probably check on the food supplies and groceries. I will buy them while I'm buying the gift.
What? You thought I would disobey her? There is no way in hell I could disobey her. I mean she is the reason why I even strive to live... I will explain it later.
*Leo leaves the house to buy the welcoming gift and probably even his groceries.*
