“I’m sure. But we should probably mention it to my parents...” Sam agreed.
“I’m so nervous. What if your parents hate me?” Said MinJoon, his demeanor suddenly changing. He bit his nails.
“Don’t worry, I think they’ll like you. My mom will for certain.” Sam assured him.
“Your parents aren’t mad you’re gay?” Said MinJoon with surprise.
“Not all! They’re actually very supportive. My moms been wanting me to get a boyfriend for ages.” Said Sam.
“Wow,” MinJoon started cleaning the dishes as they talked, “so your parents don’t mind that your gay at all. That's nice. When did you come out?”
“Well I didn’t officially come out until I was 14 but apparently everyone already knew. So yeah, my parents support me. They say they could tell I was gay since I was 5...” sam sighed.
MinJoon giggled.
“I bet you were really cute when you were five...” he mused, making Sam blush.
“Anyway MinJoon, I have an idea.” Said Sam, joining MinJoon at the sink to help with the dishes. “Maybe tonight we can go to my apartment, talk to my parents, and pick up some of my things so I can stay another night?” Sam shyly suggested the last part. MinJoons eyes shone and he smiled glowingly.
“Sam...that would be perfect!”
Sam texted his mom “hey mom, I met someone nice and I’d like you and dad to meet him before we date. Can I bring him to visit tonight?”
His moms response was “oh honey I’ve been worried about you! Wow!!! You found a boyfriend!? 🤗 finally! I’m so proud! ☺️ bring him as soon as possible I have to make sure he is good enough for my baby! 😠”
Sam and MinJoon took the Tesla to Sams apartment as soon as they cleaned up from dinner. Sam brought his empty suitcase so he could fill it up with more of his stuff. On the drive there, MinJoon bit his nails and nervously smoothed his hair as he drove.
“MinJoon you’re fine.” Sam said kindly, “don’t worry. My parents will like you.” He promised. MinJoon smiled nervously but didn’t seem to be sure.
