“You’re late,” said Murayama in an admonishing way. There was a soft frown on his features and his arms were crossed over his chest as he seized up the two approaching super soldiers. “What were you guys up to this time?”

“The candy store,” answered Iru, Rei and Tou at the same time, all of them carrying small plastic bags filled with different types of candies and snacks in their arms.

“The store is one floor below the restaurant area, that’s why we’re late,” explained Tou before he popped a gummy bear in his mouth. “Oh, but I went with them so you don’t have to worry about any possible damages or problems. If anything, they only had trouble deciding what to buy.”

“Come on now,” sighed En, shaking his head in disapproval of Tou’s relaxed approach on the super soldiers and their last trial. “Murayama and Miue were about to run off like headless chickens any moment now. Ikusaki was mumbling non-stop about filling up reports on public displays of promiscuity.”

“I didn’t know his vocabulary was that good!” snorted Mizusaki, his shoulders trembling as he tried to control his laughter.

“Sorry, sorry,” apologised Tou, a large grin on his lips that seemed anything but apologetical. “I sort of lost track of time. I was too busy explaining things to them at the same time I resupplied on my treats.”

“You just never change…” sighed Sakinaka, lightly rolling her eyes around.

“Which flavour is that one, Rei?” asked Iru as he sat down in one of the tables being occupied by the large group. Too busy enjoying his lollipop, Rei simply showed him the words written in the lollipop’s plastic wrap at the same time he sat down in the chair next to him. As if in cue, Iru searched around his candy bag. “Hm… I don’t have that one. Let me try.”

“‘Kay,” said Rei, his voice slightly muffled by the escape of the lollipop from his mouth. It went without saying that the candy’s next target was Iru’s mouth.

“...”

“How nice~” said Atsumu with a dreamy voice, his eyes stuck on the lollipop. “I also wanna try Rei-chan’s saliva~”

“I’m gonna gag you if you don’t shut up with that,” warned Miue, pushing Atsumu’s head against the table until he got completely unmoving in place.

“Anyway,” said Murayama, clearing his throat as loudly as possible to gather everyone’s attention from the uncalled-for distraction. “Let’s have a quick briefing before we complete the last mission of today’s shopping trip. What did you do during lunchtime? Mitaru, you can start.”

“Eat burgers and hear Mitsu’s nagging non-stop,” grumbled Mitaru with a sour face. “You guys should have given us a bigger lunch allowance, you fucking cheapskates… Apart from that, I didn’t find out anything.”

“He... didn’t have enough money to buy all of the promotional burgers currently available,” explained Mitsu with an apologetical voice. “And he really wanted to eat them all…”

“I ate tonkatsu ramen, yakisoba, yaki udon, gyudon, strawberry and chocolate ice cream, pancakes, waffles,” enumerated Tsugi while counting with his fingers. He tilted his head. “Hm… I think that’s all? I didn’t find anything.”

“How did you eat that much!?” roared Mitaru, a completely scandalised expression on his face as he slammed his hands on the table’s surface. “That sounds way above 5,000 yen!!”

“Sometimes people gave me food for free,” said Tsugi, his eyes slowly becoming prisoners to Iru’s and Rei’s bags of candy. “Free food is the best~”

He must have been staring at the food with that creepy face of his again…, inwardly cringed the majority of the soldiers, Eki going as far as to uncharacteristically face palm himself.

“I got pizza and two types of parfait~ Plus, I got 10 phone numbers and 6 email addresses, for some reason?” announced Atsumu with a cheerful voice after Miue released the back of his head. He dismissingly threw the small pieces of paper to the table, not minding their crumpled state too much. “I just wanted to eat and complain about Iru in peace and quiet but human females kept approaching me left and right. So annoying! And I also got nothing~”

“I only ate a bowl of shoyu ramen,” said Azuma, annoyance written all over his face. He was just so very sick and tired of that shopping trip to the human realm. He sighed. “Mizusaki puts on his earphones and uses music to muffle the sound whenever he wants to focus on something while surrounded by other people.”

“Eh?” gasped Mizusaki, the unexpected mention of his name catching him by surprise. “Ah… So when you were saying you didn’t find anything new, you were talking about me? Seriously, Miue-san was just trying to distract you guys. Don’t take it as if an actual order or mission or whatever.”

“I ate medium-rare steak, chocolate, walnut and peach ice cream, and several types of candies and chocolates,” announced Iru after having crunched the last bit of the lollipop. His eyes switched to the soldier in question. “As for Shinobu… The more playful and teasing he gets about something, the more seriously he’s taking it.”

“Miue-san, I hate you…” groaned Mizusaki, dropping his head on the table and covering it with his arms and hands. He didn’t know it felt so embarrassing to be straightforwardly exposed right in front of his own squad.

Miue only snorted at Mizusaki’s cries and bellows.

“I ate the same things that Iru-kun did,” said Rei, leisurely nibbling at a gummy. “Mizusaki-kun doesn’t get along with General Nakatani-san.”

“...!” Mizusaki’s body twisted just the slightest at that remark. Slowly, he removed his arms from around his head and lifted his face. “You…”
