"Don't forget what we told you about job class promotion." Emerwyn added.
"Alright, got it. Don't worry, After I'm done, I'll be a six-star just like Andrasyl." Nid joked.
He proceeded to the center and sat in the pool to start the meditation process. After some time the mana started to gather around Nid, signaling the start of the class advancement procedure.
Upon becoming fully engrossed in meditation, an image of a five-pointed star became engraved in his right arm.
A question flashed in his mind "State your name."
"Niadra Veste"
"Choose Main Combat Arsenal - choices: skill or magic"
"Skill"
"I'll try Skills this time, even though magic is awesome. Emerwyn also said that rangers use skills as their main combat arsenal." Nid muttered to himself.
“Besides I can already use some magic.” he added as a trailing thought.
His decision was inspired by the last game he played where the character was a ranger. He liked how the ranger was so versatile in using swords, daggers and he loved how the character used archery in different ways. Rangers in his games could also tame monsters, an idea Nid loved being a collector and animal lover.
“Choose Combat Space Preference - Choices: Melee or Ranged”
“Ranged”
“Well, I plan on using Archery as my main fighting form.” he added internally.
“Choose Main Weapon”
“Bow - what else?” mentally rolling his eyes
“Elemental Affinity Detected: Earth. Calculating next elemental affinity - Racial Affinity: Fire”
“Emerwyn did say that dark elves have affinity with fire, well this confirms it. I have no fire spells though, so I gotta work on that some of these days.” he told himself.
Each of the elves have their own elemental affinity, for example Wood elves have affinity to the element of earth and dark elves of course have affinity to fire.
“Indoctrination process concluded. Producing Job Class. . . . . . Mystic Ranger”
“ ‘Mystic’ Ranger? Neat! At the very least I’m still a ranger, though I don’t know what the mystic part entails.”
Nid felt his body began to change, power was welled inside him. Heat coursed through his body, every blood vessel feeling like hot pipes ready to burst. Emerwyn and Andrasyl witnessed the change that was happening to Nid. They saw the mana from the environment being absorbed by the dark elf’s body. Warm wind was being expelled by the force of magic being taken in by Nids body. Both of them saw his tattoo glow, as the mana around them is absorbed by each of the five sections of the star, as if setting to stone each decision he made. The top most point of the star lit up, searing heat was released as if it burst into flames. Like a clock that ticked, each of the points of the star lit up and soon the whole star was lit. After all the sections of the star stopped emitting light, in its place were symbols representing his choices. At its center was the mark of his job class.
Nid opened his eyes, the outline two figures registers, standing not far from him. His brain was still disoriented but he knew they were his family. His limbs were heavy, his eyes could barely open and he was drained of energy to even talk. He laid down in the shallow pool and rest. Soon after, he felt some presence standing right next to him. He knew who they were even if his eyes were closed, so he tried his best to smile. He felt parched, his throat was dry and he’s fading in and out of consciousness, yet he forced himself to talk to the people before him.
“I’m done. . . . hah. . ” He said, his eyelids heavy and his entirety ready to drop into the abyss of slumber.
“Good job young one. Now rest for a while, for you are tired.” Andrasyl said, who was now kneeling beside him in the pool.
“I bet you’ll feel that in the morning. Haha.” Emerwyn teased.
“Yah. . . . bet . . I. . will.” Nid said, then lost his consciousness with a gentle smile on his face.
“Rest up bud.” The wood elf endearingly said.
“Sleep well, young elf of the dark.” Andrasyl soothed, caressing the hair of the sleeping dark elf.
