I haven't updated this comic in forever, but maybe now I'll be able to devote a little more time to it. We'll see...
Out of all the projects I'm currently working on, this one I feel the most self-conscious about. Nevermind that Orc Girl is latent with sexual overtones and obvious kink power dynamics, or that Daydream Drama reveals a large number of my flaws and anxieties, or that I have no qualms about creating pairings that are probably pretty cringey in my Monsters and Maidens collection. This is the one I really hesitate uploading sometimes.
I tell myself that it's just an exercise in storytelling, and what better way to do that than by re-telling an existing story in your own words? But it's also a little tribute to one of my most beloved stories, namely the Disney version of it. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is so dear to my heart, but it's a story that really only works in a medieval setting, right? I guess I worry that maybe I'm just butchering it by trying to A) adapt it to a modern setting and B) try to make it more into a romance than a tragedy. Perhaps that's true, but I'd like to think that there's also something very pure about a passion project that will probably have much more meaning to me than to anyone else.
I appreciate all of you for taking the time to read it, anyway.
A modern version (sort of) of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, but more of a romance, than a tragedy. The protagonist, Emmy, is a shy 30-something grad student by day, but performs as the voluptuous, seductive cam and fetish model, Esmeralda, by night. Emmy is thrilled when she is granted access to the restricted library (known as The Sanctuary) to work on her research project. There she meets the kind, and intelligent, but horribly deformed sole caretaker/librarian of the The Sanctuary, Milo. Despite his artistic talent, and kindness, Milo's appearance makes him a bit of a recluse. Emmy's presence, however, makes Milo begin to question if being alone is really preferable. Emmy soon learns that beneath his exterior is a gentle, beautiful soul. The two soon become friends, and cautiously something more. But Milo's grandfather is the no-nonsense sheriff Farlow. Strict and notorious for his dislike of adult content and performers, he is both disgusted and intrigued by Emmy. He will stop at nothing to win her love, or bring her down.
**UPDATES VERY SPORADIC**
This is just a side project I wanted to try. I thought it would be good exercise in story-telling techniques and in drawing unconventional body types.
