“ so you're telling me that you and mom are together?”
Franny and Lee sat on the couch as their daughters interrogated them.
“ How long?” Cecil barked.
“ Why are you so upset? I-”
“ HOW LONG!?” her body was overflowing with rage.
“Watch your tone, young lady. We are going to talk about this like civilized people.”
Cecil sits down across from them on the coffee table, while Hope stood in front of the t.v.
“ now girls, Francine and i have been getting along for a few years now-”
“ years? So you’ve just been hiding this from me for years?”
“ Cecil, it’s not that serious-”
“ What about dad? You walked out on him and now you're just smooching another woman?”
“ look! Your father and I never got along. This has nothing to do with my current relationship.”
Cecil was in utter disbelief, to think her own mother was…
“ You did this!” Cecil stood up pointing to Franny.
“ Excuse me?” she sat up, ready to speak out. Lee put her hand out to stop Franny from saying anything.
“ Now you listen here and listen well. We chose each other, do you understand? We’ve known each other for a really long time and things just became the way they are. Your father and I were practically forced into a relationship. Look, when you were born we tried to stay together so you could have a normal life in a nuclear family.”
“ I'm not even normal, I can't see! Now I find out that you are with some woman and the thought of you making goo goo eyes at each other right in front of me is disgusting!”
“ don’t talk like that-”
“ no! It’s because of her, it has to be! Just look at her daughter! She’s just like her!”
Hope’s jaw dropped in surprise.
“ Wait, honey. You’re gay?” Franny asked. Hope didn’t know what to say, she wasn’t ready to talk about it. How could Cecil just out her like that.
