Meeting Lucifer

Meeting Lucifer

Feb 13, 2020

The last sound I heard as a living person was a vehicle of some description screeching and then nothing. I must have died immediately because I don't remember feeling any pain, just that when I next opened my eyes I was in an unfamiliar place. There were many other people lined up, surrounding me and I asked the woman standing in front of me what was happening

"Oh, did you just arrive my dear. This is Purgatory. Just waiting to be sorted into Heaven or Hell"

Wait, did I just hear that correctly?

So that means I died. Just as I was about to start freaking out, an extremely aesthetically attractive man came walking towards me. “Hey! I was wondering where you’d been! It’s been what, a couple decades?” looking around in confusion I confirmed he was, in fact, talking to me. "Uhh Mr…" looks at the prominent name tag on his chest "Lu...Lucifer Morningstar!" Holy crap, the Devil, as in the one in charge of Hell knows me.

"You're probably a bit muddle-headed right now seeing as your mortal body just died, but you'll remember everything soon enough" Lucifer said as he wrapped his arms around my shoulder, dragging me with him. Stepping in the nearest fire based teleporter, we headed straight to Hell. I was still so confused, but seeing at least one of us seemed to know what was happening I just went with it.

When we arrived at our destination, Lucifer summoned two chairs and a table of tea for the two of us. So far Hell had really not met my expectations, although I had a feeling that I hadn't seen the bad parts yet. "This is Memoria tea, this will help you recover your previous memories," Lucifer said as he poured the tea "What do you mean, recover my memories?" I said in confusion. "I had a suspicion this might happen Lilly, hence why I had it specially made for when you returned"

Sighing, I took a sip. It tasted like chocolate with a tinge of blood. What surprised me was that the combination tasted good. I felt sleepy and let out a yawn. Lucifer lead me to a bed that he had materialised in the corner and let me sleep.

When I awoke, I remembered everything. I was Lilith and after a few millennia of boredom I decided to give being a human a try. I had lasted 30 years until I distractedly tried to cross the road, when a car had ended my human life. It had been fun I decided.

Maybe I'll do it again in another hundred or so years.
