Note: "Nikou" refers to 第二高等学校 (Second Higher School), which I believe was the closest higher school to where this comic takes place at the time.
Btw Akio and his classmates (and Yuu at the beginning of this scene) are just about to finish "middle school", but middle school lasted for 5 years back then, so everyone's like 16-17 years old. I hope that's not confusing!
