Gor'lok turned to his wife she was laying on her back with her mouth slightly ajar her belly swollen with his seed. He rubbed her belly then eased out of bed. He looked back at his wife sleepily so peacefully. He should have stayed in bed with her.
Dura was already waiting in their usual spot. She greeted him with and smile. It was good for now, being with Dura. But Gor'lok had a wife and a baby on the way he couldn't keep doing this.
Gor'lok fix his clothes and kiss Dura on the forehead. Dura hugged Gor'lok tight as she gently kissed his neck.
"Did you enjoy yourself," Dura asked.
"You know I did," Gor'lok replied unable to look her in the eyes.
"Runaway with me," Dura said after a long uncertain pause. "Just you and-"
"Dura," Gor'lok abruptly interrupted with a nervous chuckle. "I can't run away with you I have a wife and a baby on the way."
"And yet you're here with me every night." She said.
Dura's words cut like a sharp knife but they were true.
"How about I tell your little pregnant wife about us, huh, how would you like that?" Dura hissed.
Gor'lok eyes narrowed as he glared at her.
"Go ahead," he bluffed. "Like she'd believe you. Everyone knows you're the jealous friend who thought she was so beautiful, and yet you couldn't find a mate." Gor'lok mocked.
Anger swelled up in Dura and she slapped him. Gor'lok reacted so quick, Dura didn't even see him move. He grabbed her neck and lifted her effortlessly to her tip of toes.
"Breath a word of this to my wife," Gor'lok's grip grew tighter and tighter as he spoke. "And I will kill you."
Gor'lok's brow furrowed as he contemplated killing her right then and there. But decide against it and released her with a hard shove to the ground.
She landed hard as she tried to catch her breath. Holding her neck and coughing, she watched as Gor'lok disappeared into the darkness returning to his wife.
Dura held back her tears she refused to cry, she would shed not another tear. She was sure after months of sleeping with Gor'lok he would choose her and leave his wife.
She picked herself up and found herself wandering over to Urim's tent. She had become obsessed with watching and spying on Urim and Plum. She thought being with Gor'lok would help her forget but it only made things worse.
Dura looked around, it was late and no one was around so she cut a hole in the tent and peeked through.
Plum curled up under the fur skins, winter was beginning to set in and the nights were getting colder. She reached for Urim but he wasn't there. She scanned the tent looking for him and found him sitting near the fire. He knew Plum would be cold and he was throwing more logs on the fire.
Plum needed his warmth, she wraps the fur skins around her and walked over to him. She kneeled down behind him and leaned on his back.
"Are you cold my love," he asked.
"Mmm," Plum mumbled.
"Winter's coming," Urim said.
Plum pulled the fur blanket over her head, then wraps her arms around Urim's waist. Her arms were not long enough to fit all the way around him. She place for forehead on his back.
Her voice was muffled "Can you warm me up," she said.
Urim smiled the turn around he pulled the fur blanket from Plum's head. They had been married almost five months now and she still blushes whenever she asks him to make love to her.
Her shy innocent blushing face always sent him over the top. He kissed her and pulled her down on top of him.
Dura could hardly stand seeing them together. She felt a tight knot in the pit of her stomach and a lump in her throat as she fought back her tears. She was not going to cry no matter how much it hurt.
Her eyes fell on Urim, his kisses were soft and gentle. His hands explored every part of Plum and Dura hated it. It was then, at that moment she realized Plum wasn't the one to blame, Urim was. It had been him who ignored and rejected her. It had been him who choose an elf over her. It had been him who made her feel so worthless and insignificant to the horde. It was all him.
The next morning cold and brisk, Gor'lok was waiting for Urim when he stepped outside.
"Morning," Gor'lok greeted.
"Mor-"
"Can we talk," Gor'lok interrupted.
"Sure," Urim replied seeing the desperation in his friend's eyes.
Gor'lok walked slow looking at the ground and dragging his feet kicking up dust. Finally, he sighed heavily and replied, "I've been cheating on Glasha."
"What! What's wrong with you!" Urim said slapping him in the back of the head. "With who?"
"Dura," Gor'lok replied after a long heavy sigh.
"Are you crazy!" Urim yelled slapping Gor'lok in the back of the head again. "Of all people, her."
"I know, I know, now she's threatening to tell Glasha." Gor'lok said.
"What did you think was going to happen," Urim said.
"I don't know, it happened once and it was a mistake and before I knew it, it was happening more and more. What should I do?" Gor'lok asked.
"I think you know what you need to do," Urim said.
"I can't tell Glasha, she's pregnant and she doesn't need that right now," Gor'lok replied.
"Would you prefer that she finds out from her then," Urim said.
"No," Gor'lok said.
"Then I think you know what you have to do," Urim said.
"But what if Glasha leaves me?"
"You took that chance when you started messing around," Urim said.
"I know," Gor'lok replied. "But couldn't you just kick her out the horde or banish her to a faraway place."
Urim laugh, it was more nerves than anything. Urim didn't quite know the right words to comfort his friend.
"Whatever happens," Urim said gently punching Gor'lok in his arm. "I'm here for you."
"Thanks," Gor'lok replied. "Thank you."
